What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for this facility present a mixed picture. Positively, the facilities are described as 'very nice' and 'good,' and camp programs, like Camp Shalom, are highly praised for excellent, varied programming and 'great' and 'friendly' counselors, making it a 'happy place' for children. However, a significant concern was raised by a facilities engineer about a serious lack of preventative maintenance. Furthermore, the organization is heavily criticized for being 'ageist,' segregating people by age, hosting 'ageist events,' and using the 'demoralizing' term 'senior' instead of 'older adult,' failing to foster a sense of community for some. A visitor also reported an 'unnervingly terrible' experience due to overly 'paranoid' security staff who repeatedly interrogated them while waiting in an empty building, leading to extreme frustration and a loss of goodwill.

Very nice facilities! I came several times to check out the variety of martial arts. I came back to check out the sauna to try the hot and cold therapy! As a facilities engineer and former Chief Engineer, this place need a serious preventative maintenance department before everything fall apart!!!!!
Excellent camp our daughter loves with different programming from week to week. The counselors are great.
Good facility although the weights are limited. The staff is friendly. I moved here looking for a sense of community and in this area it did not meet expectations. Furthermore, it is an ageist organization that segregates people according to their age group rather than interests. This is shown and demonstrated through their ageist events. In addition, their old fashioshed/outdated term "senior" is used which is demoralizing to a group of people that is not often seen. The term is older adult. It is sad that this community is ageist. Please do better!!!!!
Happy place, well run by friendly people. My grandkids are loving Camp Shalom!
I had an unnervingly terrible experience at this 'community' center. My friend is a member at the gym there. I entered the new and empty building with him and asked the people working at security (2? 3. Maybe more) if i could sit and wait in the new building. The building was entirely empty. There were no humans who did not work protecting the building with the assistance of a wall of cctv monitors. That should have been an indication. They looked at my ID, said yes. I said 'have a good time' before he went into what was..shockingly..an empty gym and i sat down at the 'library' In the next half hour while sitting there reading i was interrupted by an employee every ten minutes or so who felt compelled to interview me again. Who was i? Why was i here? What was i reading? Then the genius interrogators would repeat the same questions that i had answered At the desk, and then every ten minutes. The only real change was the escalation of paranoia , panic , exhaustion and frustration ON THEIR PART. Also the seniority of these people increased with each interrogation I was baffled .i knew that they were suffering from some sort of mental illness or disturbance..i just didnt know which kind Ptsd? Cptsd? Paranoia? Panic attacks. All they did was make me know that no ine should ever come to their community center.. It was personal but it wasnt about me. I left. I stopped reading.i stopped having any kind of good will for them. But it also wasnt personal..their crazy was theirs and theirs alone. Years passed . New versions of the old wars have begun again and i was reminded that past trauma can make you Twitchy and paranoid and escalate neutral situations into problems..and problems into disasters.
