About

Public pool in a park offering 3 slides and a diving board, along with friendly staff.

Specific information regarding the exact temperature of the pool(s) at Aley Swimming Pool is not readily available. As an outdoor public facility, the water temperature typically fluctuates based on ambient weather conditions and solar warming.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Aley Pool generally receives positive feedback for its friendly and accommodating staff, clean facilities including bathrooms and pool areas, and affordable entry fees, making it a good option for families. Many appreciate the shaded areas, picnic tables, and features like slides and a diving board, with some noting its sustained quality over decades. The adult-only swim time is also a welcomed feature. However, some recent experiences indicate a decline in enjoyment due to new, stricter rules (e.g., no toys, no backflips, no outside coolers) which are seen as making the pool 'bland' and overly restrictive. One particularly negative review highlighted instances of lifeguards enforcing rules with excessive authority, seemingly without clear rationale, leading to frustration and a perception of unprofessionalism, especially regarding children's activities and parental interaction in the water.

From the ladies greeting us and taking our money, clean bathrooms/changing rooms, the pool area clean, and the lifeguards on point the whole afternoon. We had a great time at Aley. The skateboarding park had lots of skaters and they were all having fun. It's a wonderful place to hang out and bring lunch. Lots of shade and picnic tables.

I haven't been to Aley park pool in 30 years, it is just as great as it was back then, only nicer! There's lots of shade, 3 slides, and a diving board. My daughter had fun swimming. And I liked that every hour for 10 min they have adult only swim time. The kids can take a break, and the parents can enjoy the pool without a bunch of splashing and yelling šŸ˜†šŸ˜ The front staff were nice, and friendly. The restroom/showers look exactly as I remembered. Walking in there brought back so many memories! =) The park is nice too btw.

I’m sorry but this was the worst pool experience my children and I have ever had. We usually go to College Hill Pool to spend our summer days, but they were closed unexpectedly so we looked at some other options. Came across the Aley Pool, and was like okay let’s try it out. As soon as my kids and I came up to the desk to pay and check in, there was a mother standing there speaking to four of the female pool workers about how her son keeps getting the whistle blown at him for something he doing, but when another child does it, that kid doesn’t get a whistle blown. And it went back and forth a little, and I thought maybe this is just a high conflict parent, and shrugged it off. A few things happened; my youngest son is small for his age. And one of the male lifeguards had told him and me that he can not go off the diving board because he looks small and may not be able to swim. He has been taking swim lessons for three years and almost swims better than his sister. But we shrugged it off. Then my youngest was told he was swimming in the wrong area so another whistle was blown. After that my daughter had swam over to me and got on my back and we swam together like we always have. We call it ā€œmommy turtle baby turtleā€, and the next thing I know I’m getting a whistle blown at me. And I say what is the problem? The lifeguard said she has to get off your back, I was like why? She said cause her arms around your neck and could cause harm or cause you to drown, I was like I am her mother, and I’m not going to drown. I decided that we were going to leave and try to find another option. Bad impression from the jump, and we experienced it ourselves. Just so off putting. All of the staff acted with way too much authority, but at the same time looked like they had no idea what they were doing. I would not insist that anybody go to that pool until the staff can get it together, be professional, and allow families and kids to have fun.

We've been coming here for several years, nice place, good price. The facility quality improves every year with shaded areas, landscaping, and general cleanliness. Some rules have changed this year that have made it pretty bland tho.. No "throwing toys" (playing catch with a ball) in the pool, no back flips on the diving board, no outside cooler/lunchboxes. Honestly, part of what we enjoyed about coming here was that it was slightly unruly (not unsafe, but let the kids play). More akin to a dull visit to the YMCA pool now.
