What are people saying (AI review summary)? Members express deep disappointment with the Easton YMCA, citing numerous issues across various amenities. A primary concern is the significantly restricted pool hours, particularly in the evenings and on Sundays, with members reporting poor water quality, inadequate lifeguard staffing, and a lack of clear explanation for these changes. The facility also suffers from frequent maintenance failures, including a consistently broken steam room, non-functional whirlpool, only one operational sauna, and mold in the shower areas. Childcare services (Play 'n' Stay) are often closed during scheduled hours. Members feel they are paying full membership fees ($60/month) for amenities they cannot access or are not properly maintained, with some reporting additional charges for unusable services. The general sentiment is that management is poor, transparency is lacking, and the facility's condition and operational changes have made it difficult to justify continued membership, leading many to consider alternatives.

I've been coming to the Easton YMCA for years, and have never complained about the poor condition of the pool water and showers. I am deeply disappointed by the restricted pool hours and no good explanation why. I asked the front desk staff and they said they didn't know, but it's indefinite. I asked the lifeguard on duty and she said there are only 6 lifeguards and they are all high school students. Lately during these shorter pool hours, I noticed more than one life guard on duty. I am not complaining about that but, I thought when the Y's all joined to become Riverside things would be better. I asked if anyone in the ladies locker room knows what's going on and some said "money." Another lady said this matter would be re-evaluated June 1. There are various Ys to visit now, but now the places are crowded. At least, members should know why. The pool water should be better, the lifeguards need to be better trained. If your going to short change members than at least do it right, the best you can.
The Easton YMCA is a huge disappointment. I am a night shift nurse who joined for the convenience of the location, the childcare services (Play 'n' Stay), and the steam room. Unfortunately, it has become incredibly difficult to use the facility. The new pool schedule has cut my gym days in half, and on the few days I can go, the Play 'n' Stay is often closed during its scheduled hours. The steam room, which was a key reason for my membership, is frequently broken. To make matters worse, I've noticed an additional $10 upcharge on my account for services I'm barely able to use. While I know other branches exist, driving to Nazareth or Bethlehem is a major inconvenience for a family with young children. This completely defeats the purpose of joining a local gym. The Easton YMCA needs to do a much better job of providing the services they advertise and charging members fairly for what they can actually use.
Maintenance is not a priority here. Went to enjoy their steam room and sadly it was down. Out of 3 saunas they only had 1 small sauna that I had to wait for since it was full. Mold in the shower areas. Whirlpool was also not working.
Whoever is in charge of running this facility should be ashamed of themselves and step down and let someone competent run this location. They claim the pool is open during peak hours. Well that’s great for the seniors that go there before 12:30pm. But what about the people that work 9-5s and would like to go for a swim and sit in the hot rob after work? Also having the pool closed on a Sunday is ridiculous. If anyone reads this, Bethlehem Township community center offers a better facility that doesn’t limit their pool hours for around the same price the ymca is charging. I will be taking my business elsewhere and spreading the word.
Something is always broke there and takes forever to get fixed. The pool and aquatics section are closed more than they are open. It’s crazy that people pay $60 a month and they dont have use of the full facility. The pool should be open on Sunday's when a majority of people are off. We should be reimbursed partially for the amenities we are unable to use because of this.
