So much potential in this place but the upkeep leaves much to be desired. Keep in mind this place is not cheap, understandable given the sheer size of the building and offerings. However, I know I speak for a lot of people when I say the upkeep needs to be ongoing. A lot of equipment is VERY worn down, some are completely broken and often things are out of order. Some of the outdoor tables at the pool are completely tattered and frayed. At the very least, given this is a “wellness center” the housekeeping should be on point. It’s not the most assuring sight to see that much dust in the locker room. When things are broken, it usually takes months to get fixed. Overall, disappointing given the untapped potential of such a large gym facility.
I have been a loyal member at Valley Wellness Center for over five years, paying $85 a month. For the last three+ weeks, the sauna has been unreliable — sometimes it works, other times it shuts down after just a few minutes. Today, it went cold only three minutes into my session. What makes this worse is how my concern was handled. When I brought it up, the manager I spoke with was dismissive and told me he was “only in charge of sales.” He said it’s given to a contractor and they have to fix it. Also told me there is nothing more i can say beyond what he told me and walked away. That kind of attitude is unacceptable, especially toward a long-term customer. After five years of membership, I expect issues to be taken seriously and addressed promptly, not brushed off. The facilities themselves could be great, but the lack of accountability and poor customer service are very disappointing.
It is a beautiful and wonderful place to the right people. Upon entry, we are impressed with the building, the parking lot and the service desk and the very spacious lobby. Everything gives the aurora of a resort. the basketball court is NICE and clean. The bathrooms and family change rooms are nice. We did not try the machines. The drawback for us is the swimming pool. The room and water temperature is too not for training. For kids to play, there is no lifeguard on duty. Every piece of metal in the swimming area is rusty. The good part is that there are bicycles in the water for people to ride. Then i realized that it is called “Wellness Center”. Maybe it is meant for people to do therapy or recover or hang out. I hope the center could survive and prosper. I do not think it is for serious swimmers. but if you are close by, this center offers a lot of warmth and comfort and niceties like a Florida resort.
I just joined this gym about a month ago and am severely disappointed. Based on the money I spent for the down payment ($300) , plus the 168/ mos for my daughter and me I was expecting a very clean, friendly, welcoming environment. By far, my biggest complaint is how dirty the locker rooms, pool and hot tub area is every time we have gone. Yesterday there were young kids in the indoor pool area eating chips/soda and dropping food in the pool. In all the times I have been there I have not seen one person cleaning the facility. At another gym I go to, a lady cleaned the locker room every hour during usage. This place is filthy. Also, the people at the desk don’t even say hi back when we greet them. Don’t waste your money here.
Nice gym, kind of clean. For $90 a month though there are barely any resistance bands, not much weights. And charges $12 a month on top of the $90 membership just to use towels to swim. Honestly the greediest gym I’ve ever been to and i’ve been to many gyms. You would think for $90 a month you could use towels, have a spotless gym to workout at and have a lot more little pieces of equipment such as bands.
