Calming spot featuring an outdoor pool (with 2 lanes) plus a water slide and a shallow kids' space.
Rutherford Pool is an outdoor, seasonal facility. While it may be moderately heated for comfort, a specific, consistent pool temperature is not typically advertised and will naturally fluctuate based on ambient weather conditions.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for this pool are largely negative, with some positive exceptions. On the positive side, some patrons appreciate the 'Tot Splash' area for children, the hourly swim tests for deeper water, and the 50/10-minute swim rule (10 minutes for adults only). One reviewer specifically praised the lifeguards for being attentive and enforcing rules fairly across all demographics. However, a significant number of complaints exist, including uncommunicated policy changes, rude or underwhelming staff, inconsistent rule enforcement, and poor facility maintenance (e.g., a long-broken locker room stall, too many 'members-only' events). A particularly severe review details an experience of blatant discrimination and Islamophobia, where Muslim individuals wearing modest swimwear felt targeted, harassed, and disrespected by staff, being singled out and unfairly failed on a swim test. This specific account highlights a stark inconsistency in staff behavior compared to the claims of fair enforcement mentioned in another review.

Love it here! Great Tot Splash during adult swim for littles to play and learn in a less crowded pool. The life guards are great and I appreciate that they offer an hourly swim test to know who is safe to swim alone in the deeper end of the pool
I won’t be going back. They changed their policies and didn’t post or notify the people who frequent the pool. It’s very unfortunate because I live in the neighborhood that it is in. Vets pool and fuller pool would never. If you don’t want to deal with rude life guards and inconsistent policies I would recommend driving a little extra and going to a pool in Ann Arbor. Sad.
Underwhelming staff, underwhelming pool, too many "members only" events for a place that doesn't even have a good location. Locker rooms could be more well maintained, a stall in the womens room has been out of order for a year now. There are better pools not far from here if you have a car. A good option if it's your only one I guess.
**Terrible experience — blatant discrimination and Islamophobia** I came to this pool with my cousins from out of town, hoping for a fun, relaxing day. Instead, it turned into a nightmare. We were yelled at constantly for supposedly not having an 18-year-old with us, even though we *offered to show ID* to prove our age. Meanwhile, we noticed they weren’t saying the same thing to other groups. We’re Muslim girls and boys who swim in leggings and t-shirts, and it honestly felt like that’s exactly why they kept singling us out. The staff, especially one particular woman, seemed determined to nitpick every little thing we did so she could yell at us. It came across as very Islamophobic, because she wasn’t harassing anyone else like this. When I finally agreed to take a swim test just so they’d leave us alone, she claimed I was swimming “vertically,” saying it looked like I was drowning. That wasn’t true at all When I confronted her about why she wouldn’t pass me on the swim test for no real reason, she completely ignored me and refused to answer. Even when another coworker tried to correct her or clarify things, she’d just ignore them too and continue targeting us. Instead of admitting she was wrong, she called her “supervisor” over and kept laughing with her coworkers like the whole thing was a joke. I’ve never felt so disrespected, embarrassed, and singled out because of my faith and how I dress. This place ruined our day. I **absolutely do not recommend it**, especially if you’re from a minority background or choose to swim in modest clothing. No one deserves to be treated like this.
This pool has a rule that allows everyone to swim for 50 minutes and 10 minutes out of every hour only adults swim alone . That's new to me but it's pretty cool 😎. This pool attracts all walks of life , ethnicities and crowds . There are lifeguards on duty and they pay close attention to everything that's going on and heavily enforce the rules making things fare across the board for everyone
