What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for Aqua-Tots offer a mixed perspective, highlighting both strong positive experiences and significant criticisms. Many parents commend specific instructors, such as Coach Audrey and Coach Ian, for their patience, enthusiasm, and ability to build children's confidence and swimming skills, leading to visible progress. Positive aspects frequently noted include engaging and fun classes, a friendly atmosphere, and opportunities for parent-child bonding. However, a major concern raised is a high teacher turnover rate, reportedly due to low pay, which some parents feel negatively impacts their children's consistency and skill development as they struggle to build trust with new instructors. One highly critical review expressed dissatisfaction, claiming that despite significant financial investment over two years, the program failed to deliver essential water safety skills, accusing it of 'milking subscription income' rather than teaching critical life-saving abilities.

Daughter under 1yr. Great instructors that keeps class fun, consistent and tracks progression. At first my daughter cried during the majority of the class, but she’s becoming more comfortable with the water and the activities. These classes are also great bonding experiences for parents and babies. It’s really interesting watching her improve each week. She still has a long way to go, but the team at Aqua Tots has my full confidence.
I wish I could give more stars. Most of the teachers and staff are great! No complaint there. The issue is that the coaches do not get paid much and there's a high turnover rate. I noticed what they offer on an ad they posted on the door last year. It's not a liveable wage in this city by any means. I feel my child is not moving up in skills because her teachers keep changing and she has to learn all over again to trust the new teacher. I can tell the other children in her group are even more anxious about it, they've been coming a long time too and they're still crying. I want the teachers to be compensated better, to feel valued, so that they can have some real pride in their work and so the children can have some consistency and develop a trusting relationship with their coach. Any job working with children is important work.
Coach Audrey at Aqua-Tots is absolutely amazing! She has been incredible with my son, making every lesson such a fun and positive experience. Her patience, knowledge, and enthusiasm truly stand out, and it’s clear she genuinely cares about the progress and confidence of each little swimmer. She knows exactly how to engage young kids, keeping them comfortable while also teaching them important water safety skills. My son loves his lessons with her, and we’ve seen such great improvement in his confidence in the water. We are so grateful for Coach Audrey and highly recommend her to any parent looking for a skilled and caring swim instructor! Thank you for all you do 🫶🏾♥️
My objective was to get my kids to the point where if they fell into a pool, they could safely reach the edge. After two years and over $1k in spend, plus lots of “great work! You advance to the next level!”, I watched my son barely make it to the edge of a pool after jumping in. This place milks you for subscription income and does not deliver. Real swim teacher had us “fall into the pool safe” in a few weeks. Fine activity to take up time, but do not depend on for life skills or safety.
We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Aqua-Tots Briarcliff. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, creating a positive atmosphere for all. We have been incredibly impressed by Coach Ian. He has a remarkable ability to instill confidence in young swimmers, encouraging them to believe in their abilities while focusing on building endurance, not just technique. What truly stands out about Coach Ian is that he never limits how far the kids can go when he sees they’re ready — and they absolutely love that! After he filled in for my daughter’s regular coach one day, she came to me and said, “From now on, I want Coach Ian for every lesson.” The progress she’s made under his guidance has been incredible; he brings out the best swimmer in her every time. Thank you, Coach Ian, for making such a positive impact on her swimming journey! I highly recommend Aqua-Tots Briarcliff for anyone looking to see real progress in their child’s swimming skills!
