Water park with a fountain, botanical gardens, and other kid-friendly amenities.
Legacy Fountain operates as an interactive splash pad, not a traditional swimming pool. The water is not heated or temperature-controlled; its temperature is ambient, fluctuating with the outdoor weather conditions, and is not publicly monitored or advertised.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This park is highly praised as a beautiful, spacious, and fun destination, especially for families with children. Key attractions include a popular water fountain with changing heights that keeps kids entertained, a playground, and expansive grassy areas perfect for playing soccer, picnicking, or relaxing. Reviewers appreciate the shaded seating areas, clean restrooms, drinking fountains, and vending machines. While parking is available at the nearby Botanical Gardens structure (requiring an exit on the second level), some note it's not the easiest to access, contributing to a private and peaceful atmosphere, particularly on weekdays. It's considered an inexpensive and enjoyable activity, making it a favorite spot for many.

We stopped by on a whim, and decided to see what the facility had. It very nice, spacious there were families playing soccer, and on the playground etc. The park was nice a lot of activity areas, different sections for the kids to play they enjoyed the fountain the most.
There weren't a lot of people there on a Tuesday morning around 11am. You have to park at the botanical gardens parking structure. We stayed for a little over an hour and parking cost $3. My 3 and 5 year old really enjoyed the fountain and the height of the fountains would change to keep them entertained. There is a restroom close by and there are a few tables and chairs under a shaded awning. An inexpensive short activity during the hot summer.
Beautiful place with nice grass a fun place to take the whole family with a Shaded seating area fountains for children to play in water fountains for drinking and a small facility with restrooms a vending machine and sinks one of my favorite places to visit in the park
Nice, relaxing water feature in a peaceful setting.
Pretty remarkably fun. Super private, not very loud, great restaurants. Tons of space to lay out and play in the grass, eat food, and hang out with your friends. Not super easy to get to but that’s not a bad thing. Reasonably close to the piedmont park in garage, which is also the botanical garden parking garage, make sure to get out on the second level.
