About

Public swimming pool with slides that's good for kids.

Bartholomew Municipal Pool is an outdoor, seasonal facility, and its water temperature is generally unheated, varying with the ambient weather conditions. Specific daily temperatures are not typically published by the city.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? This pool facility receives mixed reviews. While praised for being a fun and refreshing option for families on hot days, offering varied pool depths, water slides, and a diving board for an affordable entry fee, it is plagued by significant operational issues. Frequent complaints include the slides and diving board being consistently closed or broken, often due to staffing shortages or maintenance issues. Payment is a major hurdle, with many reporting that it's often cash-only at reception and card machines/kiosks outside are unreliable. Staff are frequently described as rude, unhelpful, unaccommodating, and misinformed, contributing to frustrating experiences. Additionally, some visitors noted dirty pool water and untidy bathrooms, leading to overall disappointment.

Great pool but good luck getting in. Rude staff who opens late, won't fix issues with payment kiosks and, refuses to guarantee they can accept payments. It's a huge pain to collect cash from a car full of children when it's your day to babysit the neighborhood pod.

This place could be great, the two things my kids love most are the slides and diving board and they are almost never open. It’s cash only at the reception and the card machines outside don’t work. Staff don’t seem to care at all and no one knows what’s going on. Frustrating to say the least. Austin parks and rec need to do better

Love! Love! Love! This place in on top of my list of places to go when it’s hot as hell outside and you want something fun and refreshing to do! It’s great for the kids, they have pool water levels varying from 3 inches to 12 feet deep. So it’s fun for everyone! They have water slides which is amazing. And a deep dive board to jump from. It’s full of fun things, you’ll never get bored. I went on a day which was free, but they usually charge $5 per adult and $2 per child entree fees. Definitely recommend this water facility on a hot summers day here in Austin.

I had a very weird visit to this pool. First off, bring cash. The kiosks that accept cards don’t work consistently and instead of the staff being accommodating for there technical failure the manager insisted that I pack my 3 children up and go to an atm for the $11(total)fee. He was insistent that he couldn’t do anything and thanks to another disgruntled family he finally found a solution after calling his supervisors. However this was after being outside for 20 mins. Finally when we got into pool it was dirty . I’ve been to a few park district pools but this was by far the dirtiest. There was quite a bit of dirt and bird feather debris in and around the pool. Also the bathroom made me hope my kids wouldn’t need a potty break. I was there at the opening of the day so I was surprised at how untidy it was, especially with them being hard pressed for their fees. This will be my first and last visit and it sucks because I was looking into partaking in their aquatics programming for my kids. I can be understanding about the debris but the staff were very unpleasant.

Just be aware that the diving board is rarely open and the lifeguards don't know what is going on. Before coming, I called to confirm if the diving board would be open and the receptionist said it was. I asked if it would be closed at any point in the afternoon (last year it was intermittently open due to lack of lifeguards) and they said it would not be closed. We arrived 30 minutes later. Not only is there a lifeguard class using the diving pool area, but the diving board is broken with missing bolts. Very disappointed in the management at this pool.
