What are people saying (AI review summary)? This public pool, often called 'Founder's Pool,' generally receives positive feedback for its safe and family-friendly environment. It offers various areas including lap lanes, a 2-foot deep toddler pool, an intermediate 3-4 foot section, and a 4-5 foot deep end for which children must pass a swim test. Reviewers praise the warm water, ideal for all ages, and the kind, helpful lifeguards. Operational procedures include online booking for timed sessions with safety protocols like social distancing, half-hour cleanings between sessions, and restricted restroom access (one family at a time). While some temporary measures like bringing your own chairs and the absence of a concession stand (this year) were noted, users appreciate the overall safety. Amenities include a small pergola, lounge chairs, picnic tables, and refreshments for purchase. Adjacent is Founder's Park with a shaded playground. Admission is $12 cash for a family of five, with season passes available, and the schedule for lessons and swim team is online. Minor points mentioned include an instance of the pool not being open as scheduled and the 5-foot maximum depth potentially being insufficient for some adults.
Reviews
The pool is perfect for gentle exercise in the hot afternoons. The water is warm enough to enjoy even for elderly people and the sound of laughing children is so refreshing! The lifeguards are kind and helpful. We went on Monday August 11 around 5 pm and were told that the last hour was free! It was a delightful time and the weather wss perfect. A great place overall.
It looks lovely but it wasn't open when it was supposed to be open.
Safe Public Pool Book easily online with a choice of two early-morning one-hour lane sessions (max 6 people) or three separate two-hour sessions (max 25 people). Distancing is required, bring your own chairs, and no concession stand this year. One family is allowed in the restroom at a time. The pool closes for half hour cleanings between the swim sessions. It sounds restrictive but actually it's safe, and for me personally it feels like the most 'normal' thing I'm able to do this surreal summer. I'm so glad this pool is open!
"Founder's Pool", as we call it, is a nice place. It cost $12 (cash only) for our family of 5 to get in. You can buy a season pass, too. There are lanes for lap swimming, and there's a nice 2' deep toddler pool with a step all the way around it. Between that and the deeper water is a 3-4' area, divided from the shallower and deeper zones. Kids have to pass a swim test before they can be in the 4-5' deep end/lap area without a parent. You can look up the pool schedule on the website. I believe they have swim lessons before noon, and swim team practice starts at 6pm. There's a pergola, but it's small. There are a few lounge chairs and a picnic table. They do sell refreshments. Adjacent to the pool is the Founder's Park playground, with wonderful shade under old live oaks, and it has a little free library, toddler playscape and older kid playscape. Outside of the pool, the only restroom is a porta-potty.
Been there for an age. Great public pool, nice outside pavilion and playscapes for kids. You can buy snacks here. They've got lockers and bathrooms. Not deep enough for some adults, possibly. It only goes up to five feet.
