I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to warn others. Patterson Swimming Pool in Baltimore has become an absolute disaster. The entire place is run by a group of rude, careless teenagers who clearly have no idea what they’re doing. There’s zero professionalism, zero courtesy, and certainly no respect for the people using the facility. It’s like they’re hanging out with their friends, not doing a job. No adult supervision, no accountability—just loud, dismissive teens barking orders and rolling their eyes if you ask a simple question. A public pool should be a safe, welcoming environment, not a high school hangout spot with whistles. On top of that, the cleanliness is appalling. The bathrooms are filthy. I worry about the kids who go there. I seriously questioned the hygiene and safety standards. How is this place even passing inspections? The city needs to do better. Put some responsible adults in charge, clean the place up, and treat the community with respect. Until then, stay far away. P.S I’d like to give the pool -1 stars but I have to give it one star 😒
The pool itself was clean and nice. A little crowded and loud with kids playing music on speakers and yelling. When I walked in the two ladies at the front ignored me until I asked what I needed to do to enter. You have to fill out an online form, take off your clothes (besides your bathing suit of course), and check your bag in a random room. Not the most comfortable experience. Probably will find another pool to go to.
The pool is disgusting. The changing rooms and bathrooms are decrepit. They don’t tell you upfront, but you cannot bring in any bags nor phones and you’re not allowed to come in unless you have on a swimsuit; even if you’re just supervising children and not swimming. The place is run by teenagers and none of them know what they’re doing. Very rude and nonchalant. I will never come to this place again. Don’t waste your time.
I was so disappointed today. The schedule said open swim from 12 to 3 & I was turned away. The young man working told me it was swimming laps only from 12 to 3. I just wanted to lay out & cover up all my bullet scars.
I’m a city worker and they have me and other people standing in line saying that they were filled to capacity. Which they aren’t but it’s plenty of room in the pool. We are standing in 100 degree weather waiting for people to exit the pool so not cool.
