What are people saying (AI review summary)? The YMCA receives mostly positive reviews, lauded as a top health club with an Olympic-sized, well-kept pool, spacious locker rooms, sauna, and comprehensive free weights and Nautilus rooms. Members appreciate the polite, knowledgeable staff and the variety of facilities, including yoga/stretching rooms, cardio/strength machines, and a full-size gym with a track. One user credited the Y significantly for their physical recovery. However, one strong negative review describes the gym as depressing with outdated, broken equipment (specifically treadmills), poor ventilation, carpeted areas, and an unwelcoming atmosphere due to homeless individuals.

The YMCA is in my opinion the best health club in the area. they have an Olympic size pool, very well kept, lot of room in the locker room, sauna, a very thorough free weights room and a well-equipped nautilus room. The staff is always polite and well informed. No other gym in the area is even close to the level of good equipment and staff knowledgeability. If you are planning on donating clothing or housing items take them to the YMCA -especially items for men. It is an organization worthy of any and all donations.
Excellent 🏋️‍♂️, always good energy, yoga and stretching room, machines for cardio and strength training, full size gym with a track around the top, sauna room plus more.
I found there are plenty of equipment to build up or repair the body. To overcome any boring times just join a group. I went from 10+ years crippled using electric wheelchair to walking 7 miles. The “Y” was certainly a player in my recovery. Look at the options and the positive there, not the faults. Let them know the faults, they generally will work to correct them. I look forward to returning back. (I was out due to caring for my wife 24/7. Lord knows I miss her.)
Cancelled within a week of joining. Possibly the worst most depressing gym i’ve encountered. A total of 4 treadmills.. 2 of which are currently broken. Machines from the 80s. Zero ventilation, I feel like I am working out in a prison cell. Carpet…. need I say more? Homeless people hanging out everywhere. Adios
Really nice pool I’ve gone to Johnson city’s and Binghamtons nice staff nice gym
