What are people saying (AI review summary)? The YMCA receives mixed feedback, with several positive aspects alongside significant areas needing improvement. Positively, many employees, particularly the desk staff, are consistently described as kind, welcoming, and friendly. Other members are generally cooperative, such as sharing swimming lanes. The facility, though older, is found to be charming, and specific classes like barre with Connie and yoga with Sheila are highly praised for their quality and calming atmosphere. The new equipment in the weight room is also appreciated. However, there are serious concerns regarding summer camp supervision, including an incident involving a child and a general lack of oversight. The swim program's administrative tracking of children's levels also requires improvement. Additionally, there are complaints about loud social conversations in the fitness room disrupting others' concentration, with concerns that previous complaints about this issue have not been adequately addressed. One specific weight room employee was noted for unprofessional conduct, including blocking equipment for personal conversation and exhibiting a bad attitude.

They don't watch the kids like they are supposed too in summer camp. Someone pulled and then looked down my daughter's shirt while they weren't being watched. The swim program is decent. However, they don't keep track of what level the kids are at and I had to tell them every new session.
Newer weight room employee Ethan talking with another Member while blocking access to a piece of equipment for a long time. A personal conversation and a bad attitude. New Equipment is nice though.
Kind employees, desk staff are always welcoming and friendly. Other members are typically kind, willing to share swimming lanes.
I love this YMCA. Although it is an older facility it is very charming. The barre class with Connie is amazingly good and Sheila the yoga instructor brings a calming and spiritual presence. The Yoga room is very peaceful with lights all around the room.
It would be great if people were actually using the fitness room to actually exercise instead of treating it like social hour and talking loudly ruining other people's concentration. Especially if the same person has been complained about numerous times and nothing is done about it. I pay to use the facilities like everyone else and countless times now I've left early because I cannot concentrate due to this person. It's a gym, not a social club! There's a lobby for that!
