The Aurora Community Pool, located at 690 South St, East Aurora, NY, is a popular outdoor aquatic facility offering recreational swimming for the community during the summer months. It features a main pool, often with a diving board, and a dedicated shallow wading area for younger children. The pool hosts open swim sessions, swimming lessons, and is a cherished spot for family enjoyment and exercise in East Aurora.
While specific temperature readings are not consistently published, the Aurora Community Pool is generally known to be heated to provide comfortable swimming conditions for its patrons during the outdoor summer season.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this facility are mixed, but generally positive. Many commend its cleanliness, ample seating, and affordability, highlighting it as a popular local pool, especially during summers, with generally friendly staff and a small playground for children. However, some significant concerns were raised, particularly regarding the summer programming for children. There are criticisms about poor communication and difficulty with 'leveling up' in classes, with parents advised to be meticulous during sign-up as class changes are unlikely. Staffing issues, including a perceived aquatic shortage, instances of a sleeping lifeguard, and a need for better staff training and engagement, were also noted. The pool is described as an older structure with basic amenities, and it can get quite crowded during peak hours.

Very very clean and lots of places to sit as well! Definitely recommend
(1) Be meticulous when signing up for the summer. The programming WILL NOT LEVEL-UP, no matter what they say on the first day or on the phone. Get your kids in the right class or even higher one. This is more true for lower level of the classes. The program enrolls up to the max of every class, so changing classes should not be expected. [Updated: Director's reply below is informative. I am leaving information up here, so another parent will understand how leveling up works. Otherwise there isn't another resource online. And I wasn't the only parent that struggled with this. Thanks for the interactive discussion!!! :D] I based the three star rating on the poor communication, stated issues with staff, and safety (see sleeping lifeguard). The most frustrating of this communication was both at registration and physically attending classes. After pushing the staff for an answer on the 3rd day, they finally said no to leveling up my daughter. "No" is reasonable answer, just say that up front, and do not communicate other policies. I don't need to be appeased or passively aggressively pushed away. [Updated: Staff did not give a direct answer for 3 days. They were trying to do their best. Talking to director helped because he said no immediately. This is what I was looking for.] One manager started to lecture about an aquatic shortage. If staffing then economics generally dictates that not enough staff equates to a re-evaluation of the programs pay rate and offer training to new and eventual staff. Free staff people were walking around the pool and a lifeguard was sleeping -- which indicates not enough training happening from management (see photo). My suggestions: charge more so you can build up your people and the community? Then offer a sliding scale based on income. Couldn't the managers and the bored lifeguard step in to work with overflow students? I know the obvious answers. [Update: If you live in East Aurora, pool logistics is probably within your sphere of influence given you pay taxes.] (2) Pool is an older structure with basic amenities. I didn't see anything wanting of maintenance. We do go here in the summers. It does get quite crowded at peek hours.
A very pleasant pool to swim in. I've been only once even though I've lived here for a number of years. I am hoping this summer, if I am in East Aurora, to use the pool a lot more frequently
We go here every summer. Great staff! Very popular! It isn't too expensive. There is a small playground for young children just outside.
Good clean local pool. Staff is very friendly. We spend alot of our summers here, glad we have it!
