What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Boys and Girls Club receives mixed feedback, with strong positive experiences for its daycare programs, particularly for toddlers and younger children. Parents frequently commend the kind, helpful, and dedicated teachers who foster independence, good manners, and social development, noting significant positive changes in their children's happiness and learning. The club is also praised for personalized activities and family engagement opportunities. However, the club faces significant criticism regarding its summer day camp and its advertised capacity to support children with special needs. Reviewers state that the facility is not equipped or adequately staffed for special needs children, leading to issues like suspensions, poor communication, and a lack of appropriate care and understanding. The summer day camp is described negatively by multiple parents, citing untrained staff, limited and unsupervised activities (e.g., lengthy unsupervised swimming, constant movies), poor incident management (e.g., shaming a child with lice, inadequate response to bullying), and an overall negative, 'prison-like' environment that children disliked.

I have had a very positive experience with the Boys and Girls Club of Niagara. My 6 year old attended summer camp for a few weeks and he was very happy with Ms. Connie - took great care of him! My 2 year old currently attends daycare here and he loves his teachers and has learned to be very independent and they teach good manners which is very helpful for me at home. The teachers and supervisors are kind and helpful and provide great opportunities for families to visit the classroom and spend time together with the staff (such as mothers and Father’s Day events!) I would recommend boys and girls club for toddlers!

We had our daughter in a Montessori daycare prior to this. We changed due to the amazing hours of the BGCN, but let me tell you the changes to our child were astronomical. She's always having so much fun. Not crying to go to day care like before. So talkative at home, learning new things every day. She brings home a daily summary sheet, crafts, pictures. It's amazing. We have so many fun crafts she made, and always know how she slept, eat felt etc. The teachers are amazing as well. She loves her teachers. They teach them to share, to socialize, to sing songs, different words, different games etc. I cannot recommend this specific location of the boys and girls club more!

If you have a child with any type of special needs, do not bring them to this facility as they falsely advertise on their website that they are equipped for children with special needs, and that is the furthest thing from the truth. My 5 year old son who’s autistic barely made it three weeks in and they suspended him a child who doesn’t understand what that means. How can you punish a child who doesn’t understand the punishment, they then didn’t do anything in regards to a child wrapping his legs around my child and bring him down to the ground but yet they say zero tolerance? They do not want children there that need extra help or attention they want easy kids, they are not trained properly whatsoever. The communication is not good either if your child is a difficult one, they’ll just continuously put the blame on your special-needs child and when you sign papers and give the resources to reach out to help with your child, they choose not to reach out to those resources so do yourself a favor and save yourself an insane amount of money and DO NOT bring your children to this facility. If they have any type of emotional issues, special needs, mental health these are NOT the people you want interacting with your child this is not a safe space for children , who are in the realm of needing extra help.

My children absolutely hated going to boys and girls club Day camp during the summer. I've heard from numerous other parents that their children have had the same poor experience. Sounds as though childcare staff are untrained and/or hate children. My kids just told me how they used to either play foosball or watch a movie. Sometimes they went swimming for two hours at a time - my daughter said she would just swim around by herself for 2 hours. My kids also told me about how the staff put a girl who had lice in the corner, and had her sit there all day. They told the other kids "Sally has live, so don't go near her". My nephew was also at this Day camp. Another child ripped his glasses off, smashed them on the ground, and then stepped on them. Don't send your kid there for summer camp. It's basically like a prison. I regret it, and feel guilty when I hear them tell me these stories of when they attended (a few years around 2017/2018/2019 ish).

Our children absolutely love the Boys and Girls Club. The instructors personalize the classes according to the likes of the children and I couldn't be happier seeing their smiling faces after every class.
