Cross Lanes Recreational Association is a private, member-owned recreational facility located in Cross Lanes, WV. It offers a family-friendly environment with a variety of amenities, including multiple swimming pools (typically a main pool and a wading pool), a diving board, tennis courts, basketball and sand volleyball courts, a playground, picnic areas, and a concession stand. It serves as a popular spot for summer recreation and social activities for its members.
Specific pool temperatures for the Cross Lanes Recreational Association are not publicly advertised. As is common for many outdoor community pools, the pools are generally unheated and their temperature is primarily influenced by ambient weather conditions and natural sunlight.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This private pool is highly praised by members for its clean, well-maintained facilities, friendly and attentive staff, and a strong community atmosphere, with the added bonus of diving boards and late operating hours on most days. However, there are notable drawbacks: the initial membership cost is high due to a required share purchase, and the strict no-day-pass policy has resulted in negative experiences for non-members, particularly families turned away. Other criticisms include limited and early-closing concession options (and no vending machines) and persistent parking issues.

This is a private pool that we have been members at for 3 years. The initial cost is high because your first year you have to buy a share of the pool (which you could always sell later) and the yearly membership but then after that it's not bad year after year. The pool area is maintained well and the staff are friendly. I sometimes wish the concession stand had better/more hot food options but we don't go there to eat. Parking is a problem and the locals on the street are always complaining about it but what can you do? I'd recommend joining if you're local but join the Facebook page and wait for an off season deal on membership to potentially happen.
No option to buy a ticket, even just for an hour. Turned my crying two year old away after we’d been driving for 1.5 hours trying to find somewhere to swim after other local pools closed early for the season without any notice. Nothing breaks your heart like your toddler crying “pool” as you drive away from one that’s open, functional, and not crowded. They wouldn’t even let us come just for that one hour before nap time (yes, we’d been driving around for that long). I guess it’s more important to be “exclusive” than to do the right thing…
The pool and facilities are always clean and well maintained. The staff is always polite and attentive. I like that they're open until 8pm, most days. The snack bar closes at 4pm and there are no vending machines to purchase drinks or food, that is why I ranked it 4 stars instead of 5.
Awesome place...only pool around with diving boards...kids love it
I'm thankful to have friends who are members of the CLRA, and I appreciate their willingness to allow us to come as their guests. It's a true community pool atmosphere where everyone knows each other and watches out for each other's kids.
