As a seasonal outdoor municipal pool, its water temperature is primarily influenced by ambient weather conditions, and it is generally not heated to a precise, regulated degree.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The St. Albans City Pool receives mixed reviews. Many praise its cleanliness, the presence of lifeguards, a re-entry system for its $5 admission, and a good mix of music. Visitors appreciate the available tables for eating and a covered area suitable for celebrations. Positive remarks also highlight friendly staff, 'great management,' and community initiatives like free swimming and pizza for kids. However, a significant negative experience details 'terrible customer service,' including a lifeguard shouting condescendingly at an adult for using a 'diving board' with a poorly placed 'no diving' sign. This incident led to a refusal of a refund by the manager, Kevin Pennington, who defended the lifeguard's actions, leaving the customer feeling disrespected and embarrassed. Food choices are noted as limited, offering only small chips and canned drinks, though some visitors bring their own floaters. Overall, while some find it a great place for summer, others warn about unprofessional staff interactions.

Great pool very clean. There are life guards. 5$ admission 🎟️. You are given a ticket so if you leave you can return. I recommend getting there early if you want a chair. Or you will be in the grass. They have a covered area that would be nice for a celebration. Confessions are offered here. Play a mix of good music. Have table to eat on. I highly recommend checking this out.
I don’t normally run to facebook but the St Albans City Pool has terrible customer service. The lifeguard shouted at my partner from across the pool like he was a child because he got on a diving board that had not a single sign near it that said “no diving.” She was not nice. She didn’t apologize, just shouted and then got in the pool to enjoy herself. When I mentioned to the lifegaurd to stop yelling at him like a child and that there were no signs she pointed and said condescendingly that there was a sign way off in the corner near a bunch of other small signs that said “no diving”. Somewhere no one would even look. It was not intuitive at all. She then quipped “it’s not even a diving board, the swim team uses it.” Well, genius… guess what that makes it? We left, I’ve never been spoken to like that by someone working at a place IN MY LIFE. My partner was upset and embarassed as well, he’s just way quieter. We never touched the water and were there all of 5 minutes, and when I demanded my money back, the “manager” a guy named Kevin Pennington refused to give us a refund and said the lifeguard was not rude (she was) and that she (the lifeguard) was in the right. This is a terrible place and there are much nicer pools in the area. Even if there was no diving, you don’t shout at a grown man like a child. Absolutely foul place and my nerves are still frayed from how they spoke to him. I circled where the diving board is and where the sign is. I also circled the lifeguards mean mugging him.
It's a small park and a small pool, but the workers are always friendly and they are the only pool I know that does a free swimming and pizza for the kids every summer.. Thank you.
Great pool! Great management! Loved spending the summer of 2024 there. Got a great tan from there!
Was good. Everyone minded business. Food choices short. Small chips. Can pop. I did see ppl bring their own floaters.
