What are people saying (AI review summary)? Berry Scuba & Swim School elicits mixed feedback from customers. Positive experiences frequently mention excellent in-person services, such as highly personalized open water dive certifications with a small instructor-to-student ratio, very helpful and accommodating scuba review classes in an excellent facility with warm water, and great service for equipment rentals at reasonable prices. However, there are significant criticisms concerning online sales and general customer service. Several reviews detail issues with unfulfilled online orders, a complete lack of communication after purchase despite multiple contact attempts, and unresponsiveness to phone and email inquiries. Some customers, despite positive past experiences, now advise seeking other options due to these ongoing customer service and communication problems.

I did my 4 open water dives at Haigh quarry with Berry. Finishing certification at a quarry is gnarly, but I'm so happy that I went with Berry. We had one instructor for the two of us. I can't imagine going with another center/larger group. Having the focus entirely on my group made it a way more enjoyable experience.
Rented some scuba equipment and the service level was great. Had a great conversation with Nick. Equipment definitely met my needs for a very reasonable price.
I just got home from a scuba review class at Berry Scuba & Swim School. It was fun and very helpful. There was nothing scary or intimidating about it, and the instructor went out of his way to accommodate my 68 year old limitations. The facility was excellent, and the water in the pool was as warm as the Caribbean. They were even able to find goggles for me that worked for my ailing eyesight.
Ordered a mask on 2/22/25 and have yet to receive it or any communication whatsoever after serval emails, calls and voicemails on 3/19/25. I leave for a drive trip next week and am now scrambling to find a solution. Would not recommend this company for online sales and should have read other reviews stating the same before ordering
I had bought a BCD from Berry many years ago when they were in Palatine. Got out of SCUBA and have come back in within the last couple years. I leaned towards them from the prior purchase experience, but gotta say all the comments about lack of customer service and response to inquiries (phone or email) are 100% accurate. There are other options out there for SCUBA experiences.
