Great water park/playground for families with kids! The kid area had plenty for them to do, even the main pool had a big enough part for them to play in that wasn’t deep. I loved that there were life guards everywhere and always on the lookout. The food was a reasonable price and tasted great. We got hot dogs, pizza, and nachos with cheese. A few things I didn’t like: I did not like that older kids (teenagers) were allowed in the smaller kid area where the big bucket is. This seemed dangerous at times since small kids were going down the slide frequently followed by teenagers who would also go down the slide and run around. The big bucket wasn’t working so that would’ve been fun for the kids to experience, but they did have signs at the front to let people know. Some staff were not friendly at all. They weren’t rude, but they weren’t welcoming or professional either. A smile and nicer tone would’ve been appreciated. Lastly, $18 for non-residents is high. We paid it because of the amenities and how close it is to us, but if I’m able to go to another one that’s cheaper with similar amenities I would highly consider it. But overall, great place.
How have I not been here sooner? Definitely coming back on a Friday when it’s open later. Pro tip, bring in dinner with you. Loved the natural waterfall (not pictured)
This is a great swim playground. The little kids enjoyed the water slides and kept going over and over again. The place was packed but not overflowing so we still had a wonderful time.
No lockers and it's 18 dollars for non-residents, including children. While we enjoyed it, the frequent "safety breaks" that require all children to leave the water are inconvenient and confusing. The parking lot was completely full when we arrived. A good number of attentive lifeguards for the people present.
In the town of Skokie, when summer gets hot, There are two water parks where you’ll cool off a lot. One big, one small—but both bring delight, So pack up your towels and dive into the light! First stop: Oakton! The biggest by far, With slides that twist and splash from afar. There’s a swim pool for laps, and a tot zone too, With fountains and bubbles and soft things to do. Great lifeguards watch with eyes wide and bright, They’ll keep you safe morning, noon, and night. You’ll find places to sit if you’re early or fast, But on hot days? That shady spot goes fast! So bring chairs or a blanket, sunscreen galore, And maybe some snacks (but check rules before). The locker rooms wait to stash all your stuff, Changing and storing—no need to lug fluff. If you swim for your fitness, they’ve got you in mind— Lap lanes each morning for those inclined. And if you get the seasonal pass, You’ll zip past the line and save lots of gas. But hear this tip, let it be heard: July Fourth is wild. (Spread the word!) It’s packed and it’s splashy, a popular date, But members go early—an hour past the gate!
