What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for British Swim School highlight several positive aspects, particularly regarding the instructors. Aaron, Oscar, Billy, and Cristal are frequently praised for their teaching methods, patience, and ability to connect with children. Oscar, in particular, is noted for his exceptional dedication, including learning to use a communication device to teach an autistic, non-speaking child, emphasizing water safety, and making the child feel comfortable. Parents report significant progress in their children's swimming skills and confidence, with some overcoming prior fears of water. The Alsip location is mentioned positively for its small class sizes and caring instructors. However, a significant negative concern is raised regarding unresponsive customer service (unanswered phone calls) and, more critically, a persistent issue with excessively cold pool water temperature, which is deemed unsuitable for babies and has led to children shivering and sessions being cut short. This water temperature issue reportedly remained unaddressed despite complaints, leading one reviewer to strongly advise against the school for infants.

My daughters are both taught by Aaron now. He is awesome. He meets each swimmer at their level. He demonstrates the stroke, encourages the children to try it, gives feedback after the swimmer attempts/does it, and promotes water safety at all times. My daughters have developed into great swimmers.
Oscar is absolutely amazing! My son, Aaron, is autistic and loves his swim lessons. He is non speaking and uses a communication device that he brings into the pool with him. Oscar has learned how to use it to be able to make a stronger connection. We’re very thankful for Oscar’s dedication to make Aaron feel comfortable and for patiently teaching him a life saving skill. A large percentage of autistic children die due to drowning, this is why we we enrolled him. Safety is worth every penny. Enroll your kids in swim lessons. Not only can it save their life but it’s a great activity for children with sensory processing disorder. Thanks Oscar!! :)
Really love the British Swim School's Alsip location. My children have gained significant confidence in the water along with skills. I have seen great progress over the year of lessons. The class sizes are small and instructors are caring. They really get to know your children and what they can accomplish. Billy and Cristal are two of my favorite instructors.
1. British Swim School does not seem to ever answer their phone. 2. The instructors are okay. 3. There's a problem with the water temperature in the pool and it's not conducive to babies. I've complained and nothing is being done to adjust the temperature. Within 10 mins of being in the pool My 10months old was shivering and I could see others shivering as well. I have had to stop the swimming sessions early on 2 occasions in the first month because of this issue. I would not recommend this freezing water temperature for babies 😩. British Swim School, this is an utter disgrace! I do not recommend this school for our little ones.
I have been bringing my son to British Swim School for about a month and he has already improved so much! He has had a bad experience in water when he was younger but after swimming with BSS he has no fear. They are so wonderful here that I know bring my son 3 times a week! By the way Oscar is my sons favorite instructor but they all are wonderful. I highly recommend British Swim School.
