I took swim lessons for three months at the Skokie location. My experience was extremely positive! The wonderful staff helped me get over my fear of water. I now enjoy swimming immensely. The facility is very clean with friendly atmosphere. 🙏
Great for adult lessons. Scheduling is easy, pool is the perfect length to learn and great depth for treading. Instructors are extremely supportive and help you progress in each class. I had a great experience learning to swim with Coach Meghan who was patient and encouraging.
The swim coaches and deck managers all know what they're doing and are super accommodating. my 2yo can jump in a pool, roll over and float! I actually drive an hour every week to come to this location and an happy to do it! (Update) - my 2yo is now going on 4 and can actually SWIM! freestyle and backstroke. learning side breathing now for some kind of sideways swim stroke I don't even know how to do lol (Update) My oldest is now 5 and working on swimming to the bottom of the pool, and perfecting individual strokes. Also since my last update, we had baby#2! She's graduated to the second level and is working on floating on her own. UPDATE: the girls are now 7 and 4 and we couldn't be happier with BSS. The 7 year old is in the final levels, working on perfecting competitive swimming strokes and the 4 year old can jump or fall in a body of water, roll over and float. Actually after she's floating, she has learned how to flap her arms to move toward shore. She's also learning the beginnings of actual swim strokes
We love this swim school. We had spent time at other bigger swim schools in the city, which seemed to be more focused on just letting the kids splash around for 30 minutes. BSS is much more focused on providing kids of any age with skills for water safety, and they still have a great time. The classes are small and the teachers know our kids and what they need to feel comfortable and learn.
We love how personable and kind all the staff is at British. For my 3yo just starting out, I’ve seen tremendous growth in her comfort level in the water. I owe that to the coaches who’ve worked with her, especially Kelly and Meghan. You guys rock!
