What are people saying (AI review summary)? The overwhelming sentiment across reviews is negative, primarily detailing highly unsatisfactory experiences due to rude, hostile, and unprofessional staff, particularly lifeguards. Multiple guests reported aggressive yelling at children for minor infractions like laughing or playing, a general lack of courtesy, and perceived racial bias towards minority patrons, which created an unwelcoming and tense environment. Concerns were also raised about lifeguards being disengaged, poor supervision of summer program children, and unsanitary practices regarding clothing worn in the pool. Many reviewers stated they would not recommend the location and felt their experience was ruined. In contrast, one review described the staff as 'super nice' and praised the large pool and slide, though it also mentioned a safety incident where a child nearly drowned.

This was hands down one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a pool. The staff were unbelievably rude not just unprofessional, but aggressively hostile. From the moment we arrived, they treated us like we were a problem. No greetings, no basic courtesy; just nasty attitudes and eye-rolls. What made it worse was how they yelled at guests for no reason at all. Not calmly explaining rules I’m talking full-on, rude yelling like we were criminals. It was demeaning, embarrassing, and completely unacceptable. If they hate dealing with people so much, they should find another job. There is absolutely no excuse for this kind of behavior. It ruined what should have been a fun and relaxing day. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Don’t waste your time or money there are plenty of other pools that don’t treat their guests like garbage.
Unwelcoming, Aggressive, and Disheartening Experience Our visit to this community pool was nothing short of upsetting. From the moment we arrived, the lifeguards created a tense and uninviting environment. Instead of doing their jobs—monitoring the pool for safety and supporting families—they spent most of their time gathered in cliques, chatting amongst themselves, completely disengaged from their responsibilities. What was most disturbing, however, was how they treated children and families—especially minority patrons—with clear bias and hostility. They yelled aggressively at kids for harmless, age-appropriate play like Marco Polo, splashing, or even simply laughing. Yes—laughing. On multiple occasions, lifeguards confronted swimmers in a harsh, aggrieved tone just for laughing, as if joy itself was against the rules. It felt less like a community pool and more like a strict military training camp. There was no allowance for fun, no sense of community, and certainly no warmth. It felt as if the space was meant only for silently standing in water—not swimming, not bonding, not enjoying each other’s company. As a resident of Oak Lawn, I am ashamed that such behavior was tolerated. Our village works hard to be inclusive and family-friendly, and this group of lifeguards does not represent those values. I will not return, nor will I recommend this location to anyone. I’ll gladly support surrounding communities where families—especially minority families—are welcomed with respect and treated with basic human decency
I was truly looking forward to a fun day at this water park, but unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by the behavior of some of the lifeguards on duty. Throughout the day, I noticed a consistent pattern of rudeness and dismissiveness, particularly toward guests who appeared to be from minority backgrounds. What should have been a welcoming, family-friendly environment instead felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Staff members are supposed to ensure safety and fairness for all guests, but the attitudes and actions of these lifeguards suggested otherwise. It’s deeply disappointing to witness what appeared to be racial bias in how they interacted with guests. I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and provides proper training on cultural sensitivity, anti-discrimination, and respectful communication. Until real changes are made, I cannot recommend this park to others looking for a safe and inclusive place to enjoy with their families.
Staff is super nice! And the pool is very big went to it last year and I decided to go again Today and it was fantastic loved the slide wasn’t really deep for my child but she told me When she went on the slide she almost drowned because she don’t know how to swim 4 Feet that well but I would still recommend it!
I use to go on a reg basis & for the most part it was ok. I stopped going as much bc of the pool being filled with summer program kids who were loud & out of control. There seemed to be little supervision. It seemed the as though the young adults/older kids in charge were too busy enjoying themselves. Than adults were being allowed with full clothes including te hijab on bc their religion does not allow them to show skin. That was the end of my pool days there. Very unsanitary.
