Familiar neighborhood pool with a shallow end, plus a park featuring a gym.
As an outdoor, seasonal facility, the pool water temperature at Hamlin Park Pool is typically unheated and subject to natural warming from the sun and ambient weather conditions, meaning temperatures will vary throughout the summer season.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This free public pool receives praise for its cleanliness, diverse demographic, and a maximum depth of five feet, making it accessible for various swimming levels. However, a significant recurring complaint revolves around the mandatory 45-minute clear-out of both the pool and deck, which many find inconvenient, disruptive, poorly explained, and indicative of inconsistent rule enforcement. Other criticisms include reports of unprofessional staff behavior, specifically from a lifeguard, and occasional issues like a garbage smell. While appreciated for its accessibility, operational rules and staff conduct frequently detract from the overall experience.

Love a free pool!!!!! Every demographic was in attendance together which is what city life is all about! The garbage smell on Thursday that came in waves takes away a star. But it was free! Many people bring their own folding chairs which I will definitely do next time.
So I don’t know what the deal is and why no one would explain why they kick you out of the pool every 45min. Doesn’t make for a pleasurable experience. You get there you get a chair and they you get kicked out when they obviously are not doing any maintaining or anything to the pool deck. They you get in an other line to get back in and your spot is gone. If you wanna just go there for 45min they probably would be a great time. But you you wanna stay longer then that not much fun. Soaking wet standing on the street to get back in!? RIDICULOUS RULES!!
So clean and so nice! It’s so odd that they make people leave the deck and the pool for the break. Leaving the pool, I understand but it’s so awkward all piling in the locker room every 45 minutes.
I love that the pool is not that deep, 5 feet being the deepest end for people that dont know how to swim.
It’s such a shame how awfully run this pool is being that it’s a short walk from my house. The woman life guard in charge is on a power trip and is extremely unprofessional. They have inconsistent regulations that they choose to enforce when they choose. Making everyone physically leave the pool every 45 minutes is incredibly unnecessary and creates an un enjoyable experience. So sad to see how down hill this place has gone.
