Swimming pool with a slide and zip line.
The water at the John J. Sinde Community Swimming Pool is heated for the comfort of its visitors. However, a specific fixed temperature in degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius is not publicly specified by the Westchester Park District.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This private, admission-based swimming pool offers various amenities including a zero-depth entry area for young children, slides, and lap lanes, making it a popular and often crowded spot for families, particularly during summer. Patrons appreciate its cleanliness and the 'dog days' event at the end of the season. However, the pool receives criticism regarding its strict ID policy for residency, leading to potentially high admission fees, especially for non-residents or short visits. Other significant complaints include a perceived lack of respect from teenage staff, inattentive lifeguards, limited seating, poor quality and constant country music from distorted speakers, and the presence of large wasps on the deck.
Reviews
This swimming pool is private and there is an admission to enter. They have a specific area for kids under 5 with zero depth entry. They also have an area for a slide and laps. Clean environment and friendly lifeguards.
I went on a weekday during summer, school was out so it was quite crowded but for the amount of people it was clean. Seats were limited, I guess they make everyone leave at 445?
Fun and local! Great for families. I especially love the dog days at the end of the season!!
I always have a good time with my kids
This pool looks like most decent pools from the parking lot but, unfortunately, the closer you get the worse it gets. Mainly, a lack of respect from the teenaged workforce, within. To start, we were grilled for an ID to verify residency which we failed because I'm not accustom to carrying a wallet in my swim shorts. I'm sorry, considering only 2 hours until pool close, the fact I'm 45 years old, and have been coming here for 3 years, might grant most folks the benefit of the doubt. Nope! We paid $21 for two hours, two adults. Well overpriced. Next, lifeguards appear to be sleeping behind chrome plated shades, oblivious to a young child bearing down on his nostrils from an apparent body nose, just a few feet away. I rummaged through my bag looking for a napkin to help. Music quality, OMG. So, it's one thing to be forced to listen to Country, nonstop, but quite another to listen to it through blown-out speakers from 20 years ago. Treble, treble, treble, ear-piercing, distorted, torn, speakers. I feel like my ears have suffered irreparable damage, not exaggerating. Finally, large wasps flying in-and-out of the deck, either building a nest or looking to build a nest. Big guys, these wasps!
