About

Public swimming pool offering lanes for lap swimming, plus diving and water polo.

The competition pool is generally maintained at a cooler temperature, typically around 78-80°F (25.5-26.6°C) for optimal athletic performance. The instructional or warm-up pool is kept warmer, usually around 82-84°F (27.7-28.8°C), to provide a more comfortable environment for lessons and recreational use.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this facility are mixed. Parking is generally adequate but can be stressed during busy events due to scheduling challenges. Seating and views are considered okay. A major concern is the lack of air conditioning, leading to very hot indoor temperatures (89-99F), which some deem borderline dangerous for players. While some describe the facility as great, clean, and perfect for swim/diving meets with respectable and friendly staff, others strongly disagree, citing 'disgusting' pool conditions and highly negative experiences with staff behavior. Specifically, one detailed account describes a swim instructor publicly humiliating and singling out a shy child during a field trip while ignoring similar behavior from other children, leading to a decision not to return. Concession prices are noted as reasonable, and pool water temperature is mentioned as suitable for early morning swims.

This place has adequate parking. The seating space and view is ok. There appears to be no air conditioning. My watch has a thermometer and the average temperature during all 5 waterpolo games over 2024 JO in the bleachers was 89F. This are probably borderline dangerous conditions for the players. They alleviated this by opening all doors and windows… it’s 99 in Dallas today.

Great facility. Some scheduling challenges for this meet - overlapping young and old swim events and heats creating additional stress on available parking. Very hot inside but also hot outside. Clean.

Let me start by saying that I am less than impressed with the behaviours given to kids on a recent Whitley Road Elementary field trip. And specifically, I'm talking about the behaviours shown and projected by the swim instructors. My younger cousin recently had a field trip here from Whitley Road and during his time here Not only was he actively being taunted by children in front of the instructor he was also publicly humiliated by the adult female instructor, she told the group several times to please stop diving into the pool a certain way but when trying to prevent the students from doing much the only time that my cousin did it she electively decided to not only sit him out but publicly humiliate him in front of the others and it got to a point where it became so much that the other kids started joining in doing the same to him. Mind you my cousin is an exceptionally shy person and out of the collection of children that were partaking in this Behavior not only did she single out my younger cousin she refused to punish the rest of the kids that were also behaving in that way. Mind you he had only done it one time and as she was getting on to him in front of the group there were still several others continuously doing it and she never stopped them nor reprimanded them for their behavior regardless of the fact that my cousin only did it again one time in comparison to the rest of his peers and classmates. Not only was this not an enjoyable experience for him but she continuously sought him out numerous times throughout the field trip even as he was sitting there doing nothing he was being reprimanded for something that he hadn't done. While we had better experiences in the past with other family members and their children this type of behavior has suggestively made us aware that we will not be continuing partaking in this location again.

It's a perfect pool for swim meets, and diving meets. The staff are very well respectable and friendly. The concession stand has reasonable prices and the pool water is the perfect temperature to wake you up at 7:00 AM.
