Clean, child-friendly aquatic facility for swimming, featuring slides, a water bucket, 2 ice cream machines, lifeguards and staff that are attentive.
While specific pool temperatures are not consistently advertised, the pools at the Saginaw Aquatic Center are generally maintained at a comfortable temperature to ensure an enjoyable experience for swimmers, often through heating systems for optimal comfort.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The aquatic center receives mixed reviews, frequently lauded for its excellent value and extensive features, often described as a 'mini water park.' Patrons appreciate the affordable price, dedicated sections for children, adults, and lap swimmers, and a wide array of kids' attractions including slides, a jungle gym, water cannons, and a large water-dumping bucket. An adult/teen slide and the unique 'puppy swim' event on the last day are also highlights. The ability to bring personal coolers and regular 'adult swim' breaks are seen as positives. However, significant downsides include the concession stand being cash-only, inconsistent and unannounced closing times leading to frustration and perceived overcharging, and the water often being reported as very cold. A major recurring complaint centers on the staff, particularly teenage lifeguards, who are frequently described as rude, uncommunicative, overly strict with minor infractions, and lacking basic customer service and understanding.

First time ever coming here and for the price you really cannot beat it! I feel like it is just big enough to have fun but still be able to keep an eye on your kids! The kid section is so cute and definitely keeps the little busy and the “big pool” for the most part stays a good 4ft with a small section being 6ft My only issue is, I just wish the whole place took card! We paid card coming in but the concession stand was cash only which was a bummer! But on the bright side you can bring your own cooler so I will definitely be back!
This location is always closing at different times. One time I showed up and they were closed completely half way throughout the day- on a random day, not a holiday. Today I showed up and they’re closing an hour early. They made me pay full price - $20 for two people- to swim for one hour and 20 minutes. Won’t come back here again.
The actual waterpark is pretty nice, but the water is very cold even on a hot day for some reason. I was trying to get into the pool on the stairs. I took all of 10 seconds was pretty much on the last step and the lifeguard was like ma’am can you get off the stairs cause we can’t have anybody blocking the stairs meanwhile, I’m actually trying to get in. It’s like freezing cold and im holding a one year old in my arms. It’s my first time there and I found that the lifeguards and the staff in general, were rude teenagers. That chose not to talk nor treat people with decency. They were basically saying that we were doing things wrong and having very little grace and understanding or explaining anything. They were blowing whistles at kids for just being near a slide and similar weird infractions. I’d look for other options before returning here. Overall I felt like the staff had distain for the patrons. Also, the lady didn’t even tell me how much she was charging me. Overall the communication and vibes were off.
It's my second year coming to this aquatic center as a visitor, and it certainly won't be the last. It has everything you could possibly imagine from a community pool. Including, a shower stall in the restroom so you can spray yourself with water and control the temperature, before taking the plunge into the pool. Otherwise, I find it takes me several moments of going 'it's chilly' upon entering the pool, before I just dunk my head under the surface and force myself to adapt to the temperature. This pool boasts a large swimming area for adults who want to cool off, a smaller section designed for children, and a roped off area for swimmers who participate in laps. The children's section has a variety of unique items intended to keep them entertained. Including two slides, a jungle gym, a mushroom shaped waterfall, and two water canons along the pools edge. Nevertheless, this pools most unique feature is a massive bucket that dumps gallons of water like something straight out of a water park. Don't let the buckets imposing size deter you from standing underneath it. The flow of water is more for entertainment value than anything, and even young children can handle it with ease. Adults or teenagers can also ride the large yellow swirling slide on the opposite end of the pool (as long as they meet the height requirements posted near the stairs). I'm pretty short for a woman (5'1), and I can get on the slide no problem. So most people won't have any issues with the height requirement. As the last ten minutes of each hour approach at this particular pool. The lifeguards will blow their whistle, and the water flowing through the kids section will come to a temporary stop. The reason behind this is to warn kids and teenagers to get out of the water for ten minutes so the adults can swim in peace. Once those ten minutes are up, the whistle blows again and everything goes back to normal. If you get thirsty/hungry during your visit, and you didn't bring a cooler. You can head over to the snack station for a variety of items (chips, popcorn, nachos, pickles, candy, and soft drinks). Right beside the snack station is two ice cream machines that you can use. It costs about $2.00 for an icy treat, but there's nothing better than sitting at one of the picnic tables with a ice cream on a hot day. Every single time I go to this pool. I make sure to bring cash so I can treat myself to a 'Crazy Cone'. The staff member working there was very nice, and she answered my questions about the posted sign I saw for a 'puppy swim'. Apparently on the last day of the pool being open, people can bring their lovable companions to play and frolic in the water. I absolutely love this idea! I've never seen anything like it anywhere else, but I think it's adorable and very innoventive.
I thought this was going to be a run-of-the-mill community pool. I didn't realize I was stepping into a mini water park until I was already in the process of finding a seat. It has a nice slide that even adults can ride with ease. It doesn't go fast enough to plunge you into the water at full speed, but that's a plus in my book. It also boasts an impressive section for children (multiple slides, splash pad, water canons) and a giant bucket that dumps gallons of water on the people standing below. The pool also follow a schedule of 'adult swims' that happens at the last ten minutes of every hour. Once the lifeguards blow the whistle, all the kids under eighteen have to get out of the pool and stay out for the next ten minutes (that includes use of the slide and the children's section). If you get hungry they have an open vendor that serves popcorn, nachos, soda, water bottles, and boxes of candy for a price (its not the type sold at theaters just a bag of popcorn from the microwave). Personally I think the ice cream machines nearby are a better bang for your buck (as long as the machine decides to take your money). The machine holds a large variety of ice cream (crazy cones, mint ice cream sandwich, ect...)
