About

Private country club featuring 27-hole Arthur Hills golf course, tennis and pickleball courts, and dining.

The club typically features resort-style swimming pools. While specific temperature figures are not widely publicized, the pools at such upscale establishments are generally heated and maintained at comfortable temperatures to ensure year-round enjoyment for members, adapting to seasonal changes.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The country club receives predominantly negative feedback from long-term members, who describe it as a corporate-owned, profit-driven establishment that has seen a significant decline in quality despite rising costs. Key criticisms include a poorly maintained and overcrowded golf course, often described as one of the worst in the DFW area, with issues like torn-up holes, dry rot, and weeds, making tee times difficult to secure. Service in the bar and pool areas is frequently labeled as "atrocious" due to long wait times, while restaurant food is considered expensive, often late, cold, or incorrect, with limited and inconsistent hours. There are also concerns about a 20% service fee that allegedly does not fully benefit staff. Administration is criticized for high staff turnover, non-transparent pricing, and a perceived lack of responsiveness to member complaints, with some concerns even raised about the General Manager's past. Many members feel "nickel and dimed" and believe the club prioritizes profit over member experience, leading to numerous resignations. In contrast, the club receives strong praise for its event services, with multiple reviewers highlighting 5-star service, excellent food, and a dedicated team for hosting special occasions. Some positive mentions also refer to its "cute," "gorgeous" aesthetics, and "phenomenal decor and amenities."

General: This is not a privately owned club. It's corporate owned where the focus is operating profit. As a result, you will find yourself paying less to be initiated but nickel and dimed for everything else. It's like the Planet Fitness of country clubs. Too many members that they hope never use their membership. Golf: Very crowded. Hard to get a tee time. Golf course is not well maintained. For example, several holes are completely torn up due to bad maintenance. Chipping area has been closed for weeks. Social: Restaurants have improved significantly as have events. The hours are odd. Essentially, if the management can't ensure the restaurant is packed, they just close the rest. The General Manager's sketchy past should be a big concern for families. Administration and Membership: The team is poorly run and has high turnover. Pricing is not transparent.

If you are looking for an event space in McKinney with 5 Star service, this is your place! We had a 50th Anniversary party here and it turned out amazing. I could not have asked for a better team to work with. The food was all on point and on time. The bartenders and service team were at the top of their game. Great job Sarah and team! Thanks so much for making my job easy!

Long time member here - the members are fed up and no longer sitting silently. The course is overcharging their membership for one of the worst maintained courses in all of DFW. The membership (Hills course only) with a cart plan is just under $1,000 per month. Keep in mind this is BEFORE you buy an $8 beer (after they add in your service fees etc) or a $30 dinner that will come out late and probably cold (and definitely incorrect). What was once the best club in Collin county because of the great community and fun golf course has now become the very example of club corps/inviteds greed and lack of caring about their members. This place is an absolute disaster and I would encourage anyone considering joining to go elsewhere…and for the members still standing…now is the time to jump ship. THEY DONT CARE! The rates keep going up and the quality keeps plummeting.

I join SBR Hills in 2017 and have been disappointed every year since and have stayed in the hopes that things would improve, but they haven't and have only gotten worse. I recently resigned and am moving to Hurrican Creek in Anna, due the course being in MUCH BETTER shape and lower monthly dues. Here is a summary of reasons for leaving; 1) Poor course conditions... most greens have dry rot and weeds. They claim its the weather, but several othwr courses with Bent Grass greens are in awesome shape! 2) Atrocious service in bar area and pool! You can wait 15 min for someone to acknowledge you at a table in the bar... forget it when youre outside on the patio. 3) Extreme fees to play tournaments in Mens Golf Assoc. with winners only in NET. How are low handicappers supposed to have a chance to win with all the "sandbaggers" gaming the system!? Charge 100 to play a course Im already paying to play, with no real chance of placing???? 4) 20% service fee automatically charged for bar/restaurant and it doesnt ALL go to the waiters/waitresses... No wonder they cant keep good help! Great to see Invited "exploit" their members and employees! Lastly... Craig (GM) has been attentive to our complaints, but he's one person. Mens Club President hasnt addressed complaints, Superintendent/Greens keeper are sub-standard, yet management doesnt address poor course conditions. This club seems to be a "money grab" for invited because over 5 yrs... NOTHING HAS CHANGED!

Cute country club tucked in the heart of McKinney. Gorgeous place to relax, grab lunch, and play golf. Their menu does not have a huge selection but the food is decent. The decor and amenities are phenomenal!
