This pool hates kids. Water is way too cold. Therapy pool is territorially guarded by overzealous lifeguard who borderline harassed us about everything we did. If you want to have a fun time in the pool with your kids, don’t go here.
I went to Douglas H Buck with my mom and uncle who was visiting from out of state in the end of June last year. The therapy pool was scheduled as parents and toddlers only if I remember correctly. I explained to a life guard that my mom had stage 4 cancer and asked if we could use the therapy pool with her. He brought us back to talk to the manager and they allowed us to use the therapy pool. Thanks to their kind staff members, we all had a blast that day. It was the last time my mom was able to swim, and she LOVED that pool. She passed away in November. Thank you for letting us swim that day. It meant the world to us.
I have been working with trainer Christian Madigan for 2 months and it has been an outstanding experience. He is professional, knowledgeable, encouraging and pushes me beyond where I would push myself. I would highly recommend Christian for anyone looking for a personalized training plan to meet your fitness goals.
A very poor visit this time. The changing rooms and floors were disgustingly dirty. The Hot tub was down for maintenance. We were told it would be up soon and after waiting for over an hour, still no response from the "Lifeguards staff" as to when it wold be open. The lazy river was slow and week. Than we were asked to leave the therapy pool for swimming lessons. Alas, no Hot tub and a dirty changing room.
I’ve been working with Christian for the last several months and if you’re looking for a knowledgeable and easy to work with personal trainer, I would recommend him highly. Christian doesn’t give you an off the shelf routine, everything he does is tailored to your personal needs. He’s encouraging and friendly, while at the same time helping you stretch to meet your goals. Based on my experience, I’m confident in recommending Christian as a skilled personal trainer… someone who will listen to your needs and support you in accomplishing your goals.
