Compact community park featuring a fenced-in splash pad for toddlers (from $2) as well as a playground.
Information regarding specific pool or splash pad water temperatures is generally not available for Chief Gene Shepherd Park Splash Pad. As a typical splash pad, it utilizes municipal water which is not heated, meaning the water temperature is ambient and can vary with outdoor conditions and the source water temperature.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This splash pad is highly praised for its affordability ($2 for resident children), dedicated toddler times (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-11 am), and friendly staff. It offers a variety of water features, including a giant drenching bucket and water toys, suitable for both young children and older kids. Reviewers often mention the fun it provides on hot days, and the convenience of a nearby playground. While generally positive, a recurring minor complaint is the limited shade available, making it very hot on intensely sunny days. Access is restricted to Shelby Township and Utica residents.

Love this splash pad! Toddler time from 10-11am on Tuesday and Thursday. Cheap entry. Friendly staff and great facilities. There is also a great playground in the park about 50 feet from the splash pad. Lots of fun for the kids on a hot day.
Temp over 90° and humid. And the price of $2 per child for residents is perfect! My 8 year old and 10 year old loved it, plenty of water toys to keep cool with. There were only about 10 kids there so not crowded. And there was shade to sit in for me.
This is my favorite park! Bigger kid and little kid oriented. Now they have a splash pad which is even cooler! Only downside is there is not enough share, a nice breeze but those hot summer days that park becomes a desert of heat. With the spash pad there its better now. Shelby Twp and Utica residents allowed only though.
My grandkids had a blast here. They were particularly enamored with the giant bucket drenching them every two to three minutes.
Awesome Park to take the kiddos to play and enjoy some water.
