Facility for swimming events featuring bleachers, a pool and a scoreboard.
Specific pool temperatures for the Oakland University Aquatic Center are not explicitly stated on their official website. However, as a primary venue for NCAA competitive swimming and diving, its pools are generally maintained within the standard athletic range, typically between 78-80°F (25.5-26.7°C), to provide optimal conditions for performance and training.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The recreation center is noted for its excellent facilities, including a large fitness area, diverse classes, and nice locker rooms, with the pool itself described as beautiful and generally great. However, significant complaints revolve around the pool's accessibility and experience: it has inconvenient and limited open hours for regular members, frequently closes for events or repairs without adequate notice, and is often overcrowded with screaming children and loud swim instructors, leaving no space for adult open swim. Other issues mentioned include cold water, a slippery pool deck, limited walking space due to bleachers, a poorly placed scoreboard, and a persistent problem with a broken hot tub.

For regular paying members, the pool is only open 3x during weekdays at inconvenient times. During the weekend it is supposedly open, but they keep closing it for events and repairs. Even then, and on weekdays, the pool is packed with screaming kids and loud instructors who make you change lanes. Better swim somewhere else if you can.
Great pool, water temperature was unfortunately a little cold. There was very little walking space with all the bleachers. Lockeroomsbwere nice, pool deck was kinda slippery at times. The scoreboard is also somewhat misfortunely placed. Hard for everyone to see it.
Excellent rec center, large fitness area with lots of equipment. Variety of classes offered for members. Large pool and more. I WISH THEY'D FIX THE HOT TUB ALREADY!!!
Not any space at pool for regular dues paying members. Jam packed with yelling swim instructors and little kids. No open swim for grown ups.
It's such a beautiful pool too bad nobody can get a chance to experience it since it's always closed all the damn time!! Also it would be nice for people to tell you that the pool is about to close before you get completely dressed and ready to get in 😡😡😡
