What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews cover a range of services, highlighting both positive and negative experiences. There's strong criticism regarding high park fees for local residents for basic amenities like BBQs, leading one reviewer to seek free alternatives. A children's camp received a complaint about a staff member's inappropriate remark to a child, raising concerns about treatment. In contrast, a tire service was praised for its efficient and timely repair. Another children's camp garnered mixed feedback: parents noted a substantial price increase from previously low rates, alongside appreciation for some 'incredible' young adult staff who are effective with 'exceptional' children. However, significant concerns were raised about safety due to the camp's 'insanely crowded' nature, urging constant vigilance from lifeguards. Comparisons were made to prohibitively expensive programs for 'special kids,' calling for affordability improvements. While the children generally enjoy this camp, parents hope for a safer, more affordable, and educationally engaging environment. Finally, an unspecified organization was commended for its great structure and varied activities.

Been out here for over 20 years and having to charge residence who actually live in the area of east stroudsburg and stroudsburg is outrageous and when I call and she can say "it is because of policy and because the park is alot to up keep so the money has to come from somewhere". It is ridiculous, there other parks in the area that you do not even have to reserve and you can do a BBQ without having to pay, thats where ill be going, elsewhere, $116 for 4 hours, ridiculous!!!

When I went to pick up my child from camp I heard one of the staff members tell my kid to "shut up when an adult is talking" and for amount I pay for my kid to be there I feel the kids should be treated better.

Both of my sons went there for a couple years and I thought the pricing was definitely a bit low, but I was not complaining. However the saying "You Get What You Pay For" was definitely in the back of my mind. This year I went to enroll them and almost fell out of my chair as their prices had SUBSTANTIALLY increased - although I bet it is barely enough to cover overhead and make a profit. I did not meet most of the young adults working the program; but there were a couple that stood out as INCREDIBLE and were able to get my oldest "exceptional" child to participate. They are students (I believe?) and there for the opportunity to work with kids, (the "environment" is provided for them) and therefore I do not think they need any type of extravagant salary and I certainly am NOT dismissing the difficulty level of their jobs (IF performing at 200% on a daily, regular basis). Obviously as parents our main concern is the safety of our children - and that place is PACKED!!! It can be a bit overwhelming even for a "typical child" but I believe most of the young adults do a decent job, and I appreciate them for giving their best for my/everyone's kids. Compare their prices to ESU's Warrior Sports Day Camp (this is the best one yet: ESU's "For 'Special' Kids" - it is based upon the hours they attend. I am certain I believe I received the information correctly and the "special kids" get charged by the hour and from 8-4 would be (7) courses costing parents $915 for a full day - INSANITY and ridiculous considering that all parents are struggling but having an exceptional child where incomes become limited, I do not know who can really afford this and think our politicians should put changes into effect immediately to help!! In the end, what can a working parent do? Kids typically want to go to camp and parents have to fork it out. With that being said, I certainly HOPE that my kids are having a great, safe time and the camp is incorporating some learning activities into the kid's days to keep their minds active prior to their return to school. They like the camp but Mom wishes it was more affordable and I HOPE THAT THE LIFEGUARDS ARE BEING COMPLETELY ATTENTIVE TO WATCHING EACH AND EVERY SINGLE CHILD - AS STATED ABOVE, IT IS INSANELY CROWDED & HECTIC THERE. THANK YOU TO THE STAFF!
