Definitely a place for the WHOLE family, theres an activity or sport no matter the age! I extremely admire their Christian Based Faith. My family and I really enjoy here.
We are a YMCA family, and love the Eastside location. It provides great activities and support to our children. We utilize programs, summer camp, and facilities each week and we are healthier and safer because of it. The summer camp staff have been incredible, and those who stay throughout the year have been a great source of light for our kids.
Honestly one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had with a community organization. The customer service is practically nonexistent. When you call, no one actually helps you just get told to send an email. And when you do that (even multiple times), you don’t hear back for 10+ days, if at all. You just end up stuck in this useless loop of calling and emailing with no real response or resolution. On top of that, their cancellation policy is ridiculous. If you want to cancel a class and get a refund, you have to do it 14 days before the class starts… which also happens to be exactly when registration opens. So unless you cancel your class the same day you register (which makes zero sense), you’re basically out of luck. It feels like a setup designed to make refunds as difficult as possible. Super disappointed with both the lack of communication and the lack of flexibility. For a place that’s supposed to serve the community, they’re doing a really poor job.
Penfield Y is the best! Zumba gold with Maribel is fun & full of energy! Community room a great place to meet after class for socialization ☕
A big part of why I joined this Y is for basketball but basketball courts always seem to be taken for activities like daycare, volleyball, kids basketball camp. I have been repeatedly told by the front desk staff that at least 1 half court would be always open to the members but that doesn't seem to be the case. Extremely frustrating to drive all the way to the Y to play basketball just to see no courts available.
