Shipwreck Cove Water Park is truly one of the Upstate's best-kept secrets! Nestled in Duncan and managed by the Town of Duncan, this local gem offers a fun and refreshing way to beat the summer heat. Whether you're a resident looking for a nearby escape or visiting the area for a few days, it's definitely worth adding to your plans. The park may not be the size of major water parks, but it more than makes up for it with charm, cleanliness, and just the right amount of attractions to keep the family entertained for hours. The two slides—one open and one enclosed—provide plenty of thrills and both empty into a 5.5 ft deep pool that’s perfect for older kids and adults. Just keep in mind it can get a bit crowded on busy days. For the little ones, the toddler play area is ideal. It features fun slides, splash zones, and those ever-popular overhead dumping buckets that keep kids squealing with delight. One of our favorite parts of the park is the lazy river—beautifully landscaped with tropical touches that make you feel like you're on a mini vacation. There’s also a snack bar serving up classic concession stand treats like pizza, which makes it easy to stay fueled without leaving the park. If you're planning to stay for a while, the private cabanas and shaded huts are a great option and add a little extra comfort to your day. With plenty of space to sunbathe, clean restrooms with showers and changing areas, and a friendly, well-managed atmosphere, Shipwreck Cove is the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon. It’s a fantastic option for families of all ages—and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!
We had the best time at this waterpark! It’s the perfect size for my small kids (5.5 and 1.5). I loved that there were slides just right for toddlers, but also big slides for older kids and my 5.5-year-old was able to go down the big slide with no problem. They provide life vests, which gave me so much peace of mind, and my daughter wore one the whole time. There are lifeguards all over the place, which made it feel extra safe. The lazy river was such a fun bonus for us to relax and float together. Their food is good too! We’ll definitely be coming back again and again.
First visit, before entering they have a bag search for instance, beach bags. They have lifeguards on duty. Also they have a food concession where you can purchase french fries, pizza, and soft drinks. Very family oriented.. pleasant atmosphere. Plenty of chairs, and tables. Also, you can reserve a canopy. Love it!
My son 5 years old said he loved it and we brought 2 other kids who are 10 also had a great time.
Clean! Great for little kids, wading area and small slides for toddlers. If you bring your kid you need to watch them like a hawk (as you would anyway), but the “lifeguards” are just young teens joking around. Theyre not watching the swimmers. They’re chasing each other around, socializing and blowing their whistles at each other. If there were a real emergency I really hope an adult will be there and jump in to action. :/
