My overall experience was pretty pleased. We had bout a 30-40 minute drive to get there and had pogo passes. While getting ready to get in, I noticed a lifeguard tell a child that he had to warn him about running multiple times within 10 minutes and that he shouldn’t have to again. Wasn’t rude about it, just enforcing water safety. As someone who has high standards for water safety it was nice to experience that. Very well trained lifeguards. They had a basketball hoop in one section of the pool and it was pretty crowded, I thought it would be a nice addition for a second hoop on the opposite side. The water slides are apparently awesome. My fiance rode the yellow one and said he was going so fast that when he hit the bottom it flipped him and cleared out his sinuses. He said immediately the life guards were rushing to ask if he was okay. If you’re into a calmer slide there is also an orange slide that my kiddo rode and said it was a lot of fun as well. I spent most of my time in the lazy river. It was a very pleasant experience. There are certain areas that have fountains so you can cool off while floating. You do have to have a tube which wasn’t clear the first time but I asked a lifeguard. NBD. They seemed to be somewhat low on tubes so I was trying to save one for my fiance and was told by the life guard that I can’t be touching someone else’s tube. I tried to let her know I was saving it and she said it’s just a rule they have, so I let it go. She was polite about it. Concessions were fairly priced. $2 hot dog, $3.75 nachos, $2 ice cream. The pretzel was quite delicious! The nachos were okay at best. The chips were very thick and almost tasted stale even though they were not expired. They also have Kona ice which Is cool. I did chat with a lady who said that it was much busier than usual when we went since other pools in the area were already closed for the season. Despite the business we all still had such a fun time and would make me drive again. My BIGGEST complaint is the lack of cool spots in the concrete and my feet burning from one side of the park to the other. They had 2 hoses around the lazy river but it’s the furthest thing away from the entrance.
It's a really nice pool with lots of fun things to do but we had to get out of the water for 5 different reasons, including lightning 10 miles away when it was sunny by us. They cleared the whole bay, and we ended up waiting an hour till we could re-enter. But prices were reasonable. They do have lockers for rent for valuables. Yes, you can bring in a cooler for snacks, you can bring your own life jacket but can only use it in the main pool. There are a lot of lifeguards that take all the rules very seriously. ;)
Do yourself a favor and don't wear any jewelry on the slides. I lost 2 anklets there, both times I used the slides. The pool is clean and the staff is nice but I never had issues in other water parks. The water jet is very powerful to push the inflatables and you hit the water strongly.
Nice public pool. Different areas for different wants. I didn't see any true changing rooms. They had a men's, a women's, and 2 family bathrooms. 2 of the women's stalls were out of order today. The shower room, is literally a bigger room in the back of the bathroom with multiple shower heads. No curtains, no privacy. The only place to change into or out of swimming suits is in the little bathroom stalls. There was plenty of parking. I expected it to be crowded, it was, but definitely manageable for the middle of a Monday.
I was quite disappointed with my recent visit to Black Bob Bay. The lifeguards were often rude, which impacted the overall experience. Additionally, there was only one basketball available, making it difficult for guests to enjoy the basketball area. Increasing the number of basketballs would greatly improve this. I also found the rules around the lazy river to be overly strict. For example, I was reprimanded simply for walking in the lazy river, which felt unnecessarily restrictive. While I understand safety protocols are important, a bit more flexibility—similar to other waterparks—would enhance guest enjoyment.
