About

Pool with waterslides, diving boards, and an Olympic-size swimming area, plus a toddler pool.

While specific daily temperatures can vary, outdoor pools at facilities like the Highland Park Aquatic Center are generally heated to ensure comfortable swimming conditions, typically maintained in the range of 80-84°F (approximately 26-29°C) for the main pools.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? This aquatic center is highly praised as a family favorite, offering an affordable and fun experience for all ages, from toddlers to teens. It boasts a large main pool with deep and shallow ends, a 50m outdoor lap pool, a diving pool, a slide, and a climbing wall area. Amenities are generally considered great, with ample room and water depths up to 12 feet. Payment and check-in are seamless, and there's plenty of parking. Positive feedback highlights friendly staff and a welcoming community. However, there are several points of criticism. A major concern is the policy restricting outside food and beverages, forcing patrons to buy from the on-site stand, which is noted for being pricey and offering low-quality food. Lap swim hours are short (2-hour sessions), and the evening sessions can be crowded and poorly divided, with only two lane lines for four advertised lanes. For toddler time, the cut-off is strictly 10:15 am, not 10:30 am as the outdated website suggests (due to a cyber attack), which can be frustrating for late arrivals. Other minor cons include only one waterslide and a desire for more seating, although grassy areas are available.

Fun way to spend a hot day. Has a large pool that has both deep and shallow end, diving pool, and slide. Plenty of seating options and grassy area for blankets if full. Food at the stand is a bit pricey and not that great of quality.

FYI - toddler time ends at 10:15am not 10:30 as website states. Spoke with manager Grace and said that there could be no exceptions when we showed up on 10:30 on the dot, not expecting that even if you were to come at 10:25 they still won’t let you in for toddler time. Just keep that in mind when bringing in young children who will need to wait until 10:50 to be admitted. A bit frustrating but there was a cyber attack so they haven’t been able to update the website so frustration is shared over all. But the amenities are great, perfect for toddlers, kids and teens alike. 3 pool areas, lots of room and water goes as deep as 12 feet.

Pros: Appealing 50m outdoor lap pool. Seems well used & loved! Half the pool was divided to lap swim, half to swimming lessons. Fun to see so many kids excited to learn to swim! Was easy to pay for pass online or in person & checking in was pretty seamless. Ample parking or bike space. Friendly staff, excited community members. Lap swim hours are short, only 2 hour sessions AM and PM. Haven’t tried an AM session yet but the PM session was pretty full and of varied abilities - felt very welcome regardless of speed, experience, etc. Will go back! Cons: The lap swim session was advertised online as for four separate lanes but only divided by two lane lines. This made a crowded session challenging. Would love to see individual lap lanes divided by individual lane lines - this is safer (ie prevents run ins, decreases concussion risk, etc), easier for patrons of varied abilities, and reduces waves from lap swimmers. As a former lifeguard & collegiate swimmer, I’m stunned only two lap lanes were placed for four lap lanes. Lifeguards shared they do place a the same number of lane lines as there are lap lanes for the AM sessions so curious why not for PM.

It's ok. Disappointing that you're not allowed to bring in your own beverages and snacks, forcing you to buy them there. Only one waterslide, but the diving and slide area with the climbing wall are neat. Great area for toddlers! And main pool is large enough that it's not too crowded. Could use more seating. Price is fair, $7 for a day pass.

This aquatic pool is by far our family's favorite in the Twin Cities area. It's affordable and meets the needs of all our family members. From our 4 yr old to our teens, it's perfect for everyone.
