We had a great time out on the lake kayaking! It was our first time kayaking and we loved it. The lake is so beautiful. We saw cranes, eagles in two different nests, lots of fish, and our service dogs truly enjoyed the experience and being on the water. The staff is excellent! So helpful, knowledge and friendly. Whomever does the hiring for the lake rentals has great discernment and have chosen great employees. We will definitely be back and go for the Zipline next time too. We really enjoyed every minute of it! Keep up the great work!
Took my daughter here for her birthday in August 2024 and again in August 2025. We look forward to coming back. Both times, the staff were courteous and helpful. I did remove one star for Cap’n Dave himself — when I complimented him on how well the ski ran, he didn’t acknowledge me or my daughter. Shout-out to his daughter, who works in the shop — she was friendly, engaging, and a pleasure to talk to! The dock staff were also great, providing clear safety and operating instructions. The skis are a bit banged up, as expected for rentals, but they performed well. The skis were faster than expected (we didn’t use top speed much) and started without any problems during our two-hour rental. Be sure to clearly document any existing damage on their form before your trip, as other reviews mention deposit disputes. In my case, I have received my deposits back with no issues. After reading other reviews about interactions with Dave, I’d suggest he focus on improving the customer experience when interacting directly with guests. He’s the only provider on the lake, but based on reviews, it seems like he’s losing repeat customers over avoidable issues. A little kindness goes a long way.
I would give zero if I could. This was hands down the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. We came to this place to rent jet skis and have a good time, and instead we were met with blatant discrimination. The staff clearly treated us differently just because we’re Latino. They assumed we didn’t speak English — which we absolutely do — and spoke to us in a rude, condescending tone as if we were stupid. This wasn’t just bad service — it was racism, ignorance, and unprofessionalism all in one. If this is how they treat paying customers based on where they’re from or how they look, this business has no place operating. Absolutely disgusting. ⚠️ Do NOT go here. There are plenty of places to enjoy the water where you’ll be treated with basic human decency and respect — this is not one of them. Shame on them for acting like this in 2025
The staff was friendly and professional. Everything went smoothly. You should arrive early because there are safety protocols to learn. Your time doesn't start until you begin your adventure. We rented a jet ski for an hour and everything went smoothly, including the return of the 500 down payment, as it was returned to us as soon as we finished (one previous review had me a little worried). They had lockers we could use for free and other equipment for free that wasn't necessary like wet suits, etc. We had a really nice time. The staff was exceptional. They covered all that needed to be covered, guiding us through every part of the process, and they did it all with smiles. Thank you all for your time, efforts and graciousness.
Nice, well maintained jet skis. Had a great time. Advice to all renters: take pictures of your ski before leaving the dock. Nature of this business requires a very fine line on damage interpretation, and ultimately your $500 deposit. Hold your excitement until you leave the dock...take those pictures! You and the business owner will be glad you did. Protection for both of you...have fun!
