British Swim School at Rockland Community College, located within the Eugene Levy Field House at 145 College Rd, Suffern, NY, offers a comprehensive swim program for all ages, from infants to adults. The indoor facility provides small class settings focused on water safety, survival skills, and stroke development.
The indoor pool at this location is typically heated to a comfortable temperature of 85-86 degrees Fahrenheit.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for the swim program are mixed. Many parents praise the instructors, such as Destiny, Betsy, Madison, and Sarah, for being kind, patient, knowledgeable, and engaging, leading to children's enjoyment, improved skills, and increased confidence. The administration is often described as organized, accommodating, and helpful with scheduling, and the RCC location is specifically noted for its good pool and comfortable water temperature. However, one negative review highlights significant issues, including high costs ($2000+ for 4 months of private lessons with no tangible progress like floating), a 'nightmare' experience with make-up classes that were cancelled by the school and not honored or refunded if the child was not re-enrolled, and the policy of offering group classes as make-ups for paid private lessons.

Amazing Experience with Destiny and Betsy! My daughters, Kiara and Arianna, have been loving their swim classes! Destiny is an incredible instructor so kind, patient, and knowledgeable. She truly connects with the kids and makes learning fun and effective. Betsy is also wonderful, always organized and welcoming. You can tell they both genuinely care about the kids and their progress. My girls have learned so much and look forward to every class. Highly recommend this swim program!
Our 3 year old has been attending for a few months now. Fantastic lessons with great instructors. They really drill the basics while keeping the class fun and engaging.
Do not enroll your children here. The teacher was lovely and the children enjoyed her, but after 4 months of private lessons, they still can't even float. I spent $2000+ over the span of 4 months. We missed two classes towards the end of our time in December. I had a make up rescheduled the last week they were opened for the year, which ultimately got cancelled by them for icy road conditions, they were then closed for the holidays for a while. My make up classes were never honored, despite being told we could make them up in January. This was also despite not being enrolled as members in January. Due to family circumstances and my work, I wasn't able to get there in January for the make ups. When I reached out in February to schedule the last two classes, I was told TOO BAD, because you aren't currently enrolled. These classes are a lot of money, they won't give my children their last two classes, nor will they refund the money. Also- if you are doing private or semi and miss a class, they won't give you another private or semi, you get lopped into a group class, even though you've paid prime pricing for the private. Just don't sign up. It's been a nightmare.
Our experience at British Swim School, more specifically at the RCC location has been awesome. The teachers, Madison and Sarah are so kind and great with the kids. The pool is much better than their other locations especially for my son who is easily distracted. Administration have been accommodating and a pleasure to speak to.
Excellent staff and very helpful in changing our schedules. My daughter, who reached shark 2, and now my son in turtle 2. My son loves learning from Ms. Sarah. He has improved so much in such a short period of time. His confidence level 💯. My family would definitely recommend any families considering taking lessons from British Swim School. They also have many locations which is very convenient, now that we moved up to northern Bergen County. Currently taking lessons at RCC. Water temperature is perfect.
