Recently stayed at Tarrytown House for a weekend retreat to celebrate my birthday and serve as a bridesmaid in a family wedding. What a wonderful and restful stay! The front desk team worked to resolve any concerns right away, there were fun events for guests, the grounds exceptionally peaceful despite a packed weekend and the room cozy and quiet. There was a great mix of families, dogs, and singles as well as guests for events and everyone was friendly and kind. Thank you to James and the front desk team for great service and a bday gift pack! I highly recommend for a staycation or quick getaway with great sights and restaurants nearby. However, the mansion restaurants and bars are a wonderful place to enjoy the night and get a great meal. Beautiful stay, thank you!!

This is a beautiful place to get away from the city. Took the family here for a few days before the new school year and had an amazing time. The pools are great. The grounds are really beautiful. We saw beavers and deer on the property. There are also some really nice places near by in the town a few mins away in tarry town like cafes, pizza shops, bars, restaurants. Its a really great place is will definitely be back.

The location is terrific, but we will not stay there again. Hidden fees. Rooms are comfortable but not easily accessible. In our three-day stay we had to call twice for replacement shower soap, once for towels and once for coffee. The parking is difficult, and during an event, hotel guests must find parking wherever possible.

Not great. We arrived on Saturday night to an overwhelmed valet situation for the adjacent restaurant who were parking cars on any piece of pavement they could find. Upon checking into the hotel (and double parking in front), I was told to drive around until I found a spot. I temporarily parked in a fire lane where many other cars were parked (signage said no parking). Told by reception it was ok for a few hours until the restaurant closed. That’s a major safety violation but it was made to seem normalized by reception. The room we were given was basic af with a doorless closet in the bathroom for some reason. The bed was too stiff and the pillows were cheap. Poor sleep, despite some blackout shades. What really annoyed me is that the next day, after being out all day long, we returned to our room at 2am to find our door open. Housekeeping didn’t close it correctly. Wow. I’ve stayed at literally hundreds of hotels and that was a first. Nothing missing but still. Despite the bed being made, the iron I used was still in the same spot, long black hairs on the towel I used for my shower which contained an empty shampoo bottle. I mentioned these problems to reception who were courteous enough to comp my breakfast and waive the resort fees, which I appreciated. The breakfast was forgettable with our seat next to a window, the sash of which doubled as a wasp graveyard. Dozens of dead wasps and a few live ones, one which stung my hand. Staff in the restaurant were lovely but the woman who worked as the host greeted us with no smile and recited the price from memory before asking us to sign a paper indicating our names and room number. Tacky. This hotel has much work to do to improve staff procedures and incentives. Management isn’t doing an effective job, clearly.

Our company recently had a retreat at this hotel. It’s located in a quiet area away from the city, and the atmosphere itself wasn’t bad. However, the hotel facilities/amenities were outdated, worn, and quite inconvenient. On the very first night, the air conditioner/heater wouldn’t turn off. I requested service, but nobody ever came, and the issue was never fixed until I checked out two days later. As a result, I had to endure the loud fan noise throughout the nights. What made things worse was my experience at the mini-store next to the front desk. I bought a drink with my credit card and later asked for a refund, but even after a week, I still haven’t received it. I called the front desk twice and asked for help, but no return call. The frontdesk staff were very unhelpful, unfriendly, and showed no willingness to assist. With outdated facilities and such poor service, this has become a hotel I would never want to visit again, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The only redeeming part of my stay was the Chinese food I had at Goosefeather on the first night—it was the one thing I genuinely enjoyed.
