What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for the Bethany YMCA pool present a mixed, but largely negative, picture. Many visitors criticize the high admission prices, particularly the $10 fee for a brief swim and the $5 charge for non-swimmers just to watch, deeming it 'crazy' and 'greedy'. Significant concerns are raised about hygiene, with mentions of 'repulsive locker rooms' and a 'poop in the pool' incident that lifeguards reportedly ignored, alongside complaints about staff inattentiveness and refusal to administer swim tests. However, positive aspects include the facility's features such as an Olympic-sized pool, a twist slide, a well-regarded toddler/wading pool (though some gates are left open), comfortable lounge chairs, shaded areas, a concession stand, and generally clean restrooms. Some reviewers appreciate the visible presence and organization of lifeguards, which, along with the gate charge, is seen to enhance safety and reduce crowds.

Ridiculously disappointing even a brief swim at a COMMUNITY PARK is an entire 10 DOLLARS, but we don't see any of that being used for the repulsive locker rooms and undeoderized, unsunscreened people you gotta be around, yet again everyone is robbed of free entertainment because this pools greed, stick it where the sun don't shine bethany ymca
Would never go back. Glad we don't live here. We were just in town visiting The price was crazy. Made me pay $5 just to sit on a chair and watch my kids and their grandma dropped us off and walked to the gate and paid for the kids and they charged her $5 too and she didn't stay.. Then a LARGE family came in with tiny kids. They took diapers off about 5 or 6 of them and put underwear on them to swim. Guess what Poop in the pool and no one did anything. Lifeguards too busy visiting. All kids that can't pass a deep end swim test must wear life jackets. But wouldn't let my 10 year old take the swim test. He asked twice. They said no go get a life jacket. Was a much better place last visit before the YMCA took it over.
Went there for the first time this summer and it seems to be very nice organized with the life guards I like it, has dialed down a little because of the gate charge I assume, so not near as crowded as last year, or it seems that way,! Even had a lifeguard in the kiddie section, how cool is that, they didn't last year, but I guess the price of the admission helps provide security and safety for everyone,so I rest a little easier knowing that I can send them up there and not to worry so much about my little grandkids. So I'm going to give a five star I think they're turning that pull around. So have fun in the sun guys.....
Great Olympic size pool with a low diving board and a twist slide, toddler pool is perfect for the little ones. Comfortable lounge chairs, shaded areas with tables and a small concession stand with snow cones, chips and a few other things. Very clean restrooms, a bunch small lockers, and 6 or 7 lifeguards on duty at all times. Best of all the Grand kids love it ! !
Today was the first time for my son and I to go there and wevloved it. I love the wading pool for the young ones, I didn't have to worry about my 3 year old as much knowing it was gated, at least when people actually closed it going in and out. We will definitely be going back!
