Membership-only fitness center with a pool and courts for tennis, basketball, and volleyball.
The Springfield YMCA features two heated indoor pools. Specific daily temperatures are not publicly listed on their website, but YMCA facilities generally maintain lap pools between 79-82°F (26-28°C) and warmer instructional or therapy pools around 86-90°F (30-32°C) to accommodate various aquatic activities.

Great equipment and class content but schedule needs to have later times (more post dinner time). The facility is very dirty…unwiped windows, dirty floors, wet/smelly bathrooms. As a newer member, I was shocked at the lack of cleanliness especially with high membership fees (compared to other local gyms and other YMCA locations)
Your front desk and floor staff are outstanding! I had a rather unfortunate and unprofessional experience with Kelly Corey though. I asked the desk if I coukd pop-in to ask her a question relating to the CEO. I was quickly dismissed and shooed away as she said "Get out, sorry not sorry but I want to go home... and my computer just turned off." She promptly picked up her back pack and keys, locked the door and left without saying goodbye to anybody. I have heard some stories about her behavior and rudness from fellow members, but I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. She is probably one of the rudest individuals I have ever come across
Unfortunately, my recent experience at the Springfield YMCA was disappointing. I stood at the front desk for about 30 minutes with two babies under two, and My sister waiting to renew my membership, and the staff, though present, were extremely slow and disorganized. One staff member in particular — a white male with a short haircut and a large water jug always nearby — was especially unaccommodating. (I think his name was Gus.) His constant movement and lack of focus made it clear that customer service was not a priority. When he finally processed my renewal, I was told I could only pay with exact change or use a card already on file — a very inconvenient and outdated policy. I also asked for a quick tour of the facility and about signing my two boys up for classes, but instead of helping, I was met with vague responses and resistance. This experience made what should’ve been a simple task incredibly frustrating. I had hoped to restart my membership and get involved in classes, but it felt like they were making it impossible. I won’t be returning, especially since my membership was already on hold and this could have been resolved easily with more efficient and accommodating staff.
The previous review (2 stars) was posted by mistake. The staff is very nice, helpful and professional. The facility is great. We enjoy going to this YMCA.
Wish I would have read the more recent reviews before going- the facility is rather unclean and overall out dated. The locker rooms are enormous but there is carpet throughout and surfaces are always wet. There’s a strong mold/mildew scent that hits you in the face once you walk into the women’s locker room ( my bf said the same about the men’s). The stairwells and floors are dirty. They really need to increase their cleaning staff or frequency. Our interactions with staff have not been pleasant. They’re quite rude and unhelpful- a big change since it was the Healthplex previously.
