About

Water-based play area for kids of various ages, also featuring a river.

As a splash pad, this facility does not feature traditional pools with controlled temperatures. The water used is typically municipal tap water, and its temperature is not regulated or heated, generally reflecting ambient ground water temperatures.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Highland Splash Pad is highly recommended, particularly for families with young children and toddlers, offering a free and fun way to cool off. Reviewers consistently praise its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and fenced perimeter, which enhances safety. It features ample shade, comfortable bench seating, and grassy areas perfect for picnics. The water pressure is gentle and suitable for young children, and there's a unique play stream with rocks for climbing that keeps kids engaged. The water is turned off for approximately 10 minutes each hour. While it opens at 10 AM and can be a popular destination for local families, visitors are advised to bring essentials like sunscreen, towels, and potentially their own chairs or umbrellas due to varying shade availability. There is also a mention of a separate, free "Pumpkin Walk" event that was described as a super fun experience.

In July 2005, we visited the Highland Splash Pad at the Highland Town Center. I went with my 15 month old grandson, and it was perfect for him. Many younger kids were joyfully playing there and cooling off from the Summer heat. They turn off the water for about 10 minutes per hour. My grandson had a great time playing there, and I highly recommend this free activity for anyone with young kids or who wants to escape from the Summer heat. Thank you, Highland City for providing this great experience.

Love this splash pad! Honestly one of my favorites - I came here as a kid, but now as an adult with toddlers of my own it's at the top of my list. It's clean, well kept, fenced!!! And perfect for littler kids and toddlers. The water pressure is just right in the fountains and doesn't scare the littlest of tots. There's shady spots most of the day, and bench seating too. Beautiful grassy areas for picnic blankets and enough garbage cans to keep trash at bay.

This is a really nice splash pad. There is ample shade spread out, grassy areas are big, and the splash pad keeps kids busy. The stream is wide and just deep enough in some spots to lay down but not be totally submerged. And there are lots of rocks to climb on. The area is fenced off too, so it's easier to keep an eye on kids. It wasn't overly busy when we went on a Saturday morning. It was an enjoyable time. Definitely bring sunscreen, towels, maybe a chair, drinks, etc. so you can hang for a while.

Fun water pad with a little play stream. It doesn't open until 10 am. It seems like a Mecca for local families. So many children! There are sort of lifeguards monitoring the area with opinions but they didn't bother us. The water turns off every hour for a potty break... I'm not sure how effective that was. I just heard moms say "Play in it now without the water." It was free and fun. Good for an hour of fun if you are in the area. But do bring a swimsuit and sun block as there is limited shade. People actually brought beach umbrellas. BTW the library is across the street if you want to go there first.

The pumpkin walk was super fun. It is a free event that I hope will happen every year. This was the first year we went and despite the freezing temperatures we he had a great time.
