About

Quest Swimming, located at 6800 Deer Run Dr, Midlothian, VA, is a premier year-round swim training facility. It features a state-of-the-art complex with an 8-lane, 25-yard competition pool and a separate warm-water teaching pool, catering to competitive swimmers, lessons, and recreational use.

The competition pool at Quest Swimming is maintained at a comfortable 79-80 degrees Fahrenheit. The separate teaching pool is kept warmer, typically at 86-87 degrees Fahrenheit, ideal for lessons and therapeutic use.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Quest receives predominantly positive reviews, praised for its effective swimming instruction for various age groups, from young children to adult beginners, and its support for competitive swimmers. Reviewers frequently highlight the small class sizes, flexible progression, and the dedication of many coaches (e.g., Amy, Chrisi, Chad, Nick) who are described as supportive, respectful, and genuinely engaged with their students. The program is also commended for fostering a supportive community, emphasizing holistic development, and helping children grow as both swimmers and teammates. However, one long-term swimmer reported a significantly negative experience in the senior group, citing poor treatment, including an incident where a coach named John threw a metal water bottle, and an overall disrespectful atmosphere.

I wanted to share my honest experience from my years at Quest. I swam there for over 10 years, and while I loved the sport and the friendships I built, my time in the senior group was overshadowed by how poorly we were treated. One coach, John, even went as far as throwing a metal water bottle at a group of us in the pool which was completely unacceptable and unsafe. Beyond that, the overall atmosphere in the senior group often felt disrespectful and dismissive. That said, I don’t want to overlook the coaches who truly made a positive impact on me. Coaches like Amy and Chrisi were supportive, respectful, and clearly cared about their athletes. They showed the kind of coaching that makes swimmers want to stay and grow in the sport.

I have nothing but respect and gratitude to this school. I went there to learn swimming as a 32 year old, and felt so welcomed by coach Chad and my personal coach Nick. Nick did an amazing job teaching me some techniques which made me swim in 3 months. I had to quit after 5 months due to personal reasons but I kept my practice ongoing in the nearest YMCA pool. Now after almost 18 months, I am able to swim (freestyle) 18 lapses which is 900 yards in 30 minutes. Thank you 🙏🏽

They are wonderful! They have small classes of four or less kids that they teach to swim. The classes are open so you can start whenever and move up at your own pace. The older kids competitive at a national level.

We have had such a positive experience with Quest Swim Team. Both of my children have grown in their skills. I love that the emphasis is on the swimmer as a whole- lots of effort put into helping kids be good humans and teammates, not just better swimmers. While we have seen time drops and better form, more importantly we have watched our kids be part of a supportive community that welcomes swimmers of varying ability. The coaches work hard to create an environment where the kids learn to support each other. Highly recommend.

Loving Quest Swimming swim school for my 4 year old. We had previously tried another swim school for a few sessions but it just wasn't working for my daughter and she was pretty stressed. We took a break and I'm so happy we were able to start fresh with Quest. The classes are small and the instructors all seem very engaged and like they genuinely love kids. Happy mom and happy kiddo :)
