Free pool. Shaded benches for guests who just want to watch their kids without getting in. Lifeguards on staff. The pool has slides for kids who can swim. Great hours on weekends into the evening. It would be even better if the had sprinklers or more water play activities for younger non-swimming kids.
We were visiting San Antonio for the week and stopped by two different park pools. Woodlawn Lake Pool was amazing. 10/10. Friendly staff, attentive lifeguards, changing rooms, a large deep end and two different slides. Amazing local amenity.
During the summer they had a program were they gave out snack and lunch. It was nice. Some of the rules are mind boggling but it is always clean when I go. Some of the lifeguards are friendly. As of May 2023 they are only open Sat and Sun from 1-7pm, during the week it'd laps only starting g at 8:30 am. It will change when summer official starts and school ends.
Personally I've never swam here but, I walk by here every morning. The way they've remodeled the pool looks fantastic. They have added coverage for shade too. I would definitely swim here now looks great!
This is one of my family's favorite public pools, (& we've been to most). It's clean, very large w/ a deep end of 9ft, has two water slides & an attentive staff (aka lifeguards). Keep in mind, this is a public pool, not the Ritz w/ a spa & cabana boy. With that, bring just a towel, sunblock & h2o. You can check your valuables @ the desk. If you're unsure of the rules, go to SA park's website. The pool is FREE. It can get crowded, so the best times to go are btwn 1 & 3pm weekdays. As San Antonio residents, we're all fortunate to have such a great asset readily available.
