The Addison-Penzak JCC in Los Gatos offers a welcoming and well-rounded environment for both individual fitness and family recreation. The fitness center is clean, modern, and thoughtfully equipped—with everything from free weights and resistance machines to a spacious cardio area. The group fitness classes are a standout, offering a variety of options like yoga, HIIT, and spin, all led by knowledgeable instructors who strike a great balance between motivation and approachability. Whether you’re working out solo or joining a class, the atmosphere feels supportive and community-driven. For families, the JCC really shines. The outdoor pool is a favorite, especially in the warmer months, and the facility often hosts seasonal events that bring people together in a relaxed, inclusive setting. There’s also a gymnasium, tennis courts, and even pickleball—making it easy to stay active in ways that go beyond the typical gym routine. It’s the kind of place where you can drop in for a workout, then meet up with family for a swim or a snack at the café. The blend of fitness, leisure, and community makes it a standout resource in the Los Gatos area.
I absolutely love this gym! The staff are always friendly and welcoming, the trainers are knowledgeable and motivating, and the equipment is clean and well-maintained. The classes are fun and challenging, and there’s a great variety for every fitness level. I’ve seen amazing results and always look forward to coming here. Highly recommended
I can't sing the praises of this place loudly enough. They have a great gym, pools, they hold classes and events, and security is very good. (I had to go to the hospital for a few days and my bike was left there in the bike rack, I came back and it was untouched, nothing taken out of the panniers, etc. Impressive!) You do not need to be Jewish to join this club or attend the classes/events. It's well worth checking out.
The story behind how I got a membership here twice is funny to me. In 2013 or 2014, I didn't mean to get a membership here, but rather at the Swim and Racket Club, which is also on Oka Road. I made a wrong turn here, took a tour, and decided that this is what I needed (mostly the pool to train for a triathlon I didn't even end up doing). The facilities were nice, the staff was as well. Last year (2024), after encountering a strange leg injury, I decided I needed to swim, and remember how much I enjoyed the JCC last time, I signed up again through an old friend of mine. I swam quite a lot here this last year, did some rowing, played basketball and pickleball, and wished I had used more of the facilities. Through it all, big thanks to Diego for help with my membership, Debbie for being there at the front with a warm welcome, and to all the lifeguards who ever had to watch over me (I once swam here continuously for almost 4 hours...). Some strange bit of fate brought me here twice about a decade apart, so despite moving out of state recently, I might be back! In the meantime, thank you for the memories.
Great equipment and staff. But the basketball courts are always packed with aau teams and others who also want to practice every day of the week so there’s no room to play. They should consider building another basketball gym.
