One of my favorite gyms! Two swimming pools and spacious workout area. Nice sauna and steam room. Also has basketball court and ping pong tables. And many Tennis Courts, always clean and friendly staff
I've been coming her for years, it's been pretty good, but the pool lifeguards have been noticeably overbearing in recent months—even when it’s clear your kid can swim, having fun, they frequently come over to talk to the parents. Unless your child is swim-team level, be prepared to stay in the water with them the entire time, regardless of their actual ability. Also disappointed that the family locker room shower had no hot water two days in a row last weekend. It’s frustrating when you can’t count on basic amenities. Hopefully this gets resolved soon.
Parking situation is getting worse and worse. Today I parked my car in the lot during my visit. When I returned, I found another car parked so close to mine that I couldn't even open my door to get in. This was particularly frustrating because there were plenty of other parking spots available at the time. While I understand that parking behavior is the responsibility of individual drivers, I believe Bay Club could improve the situation by encouraging better parking practices or adding clear guidelines to ensure members are considerate of others. I hope management takes this feedback into account and implements measures to avoid such inconveniences in the future.
Bay Club Santa Clara has great facilities—the pool is excellent, the gym is clean, and the Body Pump classes are led by outstanding instructors like David, Peggie, Rebecca, and Brandy. Their energy, professionalism, and class structure are some of the best I’ve experienced. However, the Body Pump classes have become very crowded, and without floor markings or any system to organize where participants set up, people cluster in certain spots while other areas go unused. This not only makes the classes uncomfortable but could also lead to injuries due to the lack of space during certain movements. I reached out to Laurie Miner and the front desk with this feedback, hoping for a response or even an acknowledgment, but I haven’t heard anything back. For a premium club with high membership fees, the lack of communication from management is disappointing. While I still value the instructors and class structure, the crowding issue and unresponsiveness from staff are enough to bring my experience down to 3 stars.
Cannot wait to leave this gym. The members here are the worst- poor etiquette all around. Members hog equipment while sitting on benches or blocks in their phones, parking lot is chaos with awful and inconsiderate drivers, unsightly behaviors such as loud phone usage with feet on table or people using hair dryers for everything but their heads!! For premium price, this place feels worse than planet fitness. I am going back to Equinox.
