Several reviewers praise the comprehensive program, which allows children to progress from beginner levels to pre-comp and swim team, learning all four strokes. Coach Michael is frequently highlighted for his wonderful, supportive, and highly personalized coaching, especially in advanced classes, helping kids significantly improve. Manager Jennifer is also consistently mentioned as helpful and attentive. The facility itself receives praise for being family-friendly, having an indoor heated pool, and offering quick showers. Many parents note their children enjoy going to classes and have made good progress, even those initially hesitant about swimming. However, there are some significant negative experiences reported. One review details an extremely rude and unprofessional encounter with Coach Chen, who allegedly refused to share swim test results, raised his voice, and seemed to have ulterior motives, leading to an immediate refund. Another review points out a high coach turnover rate, some coaches lacking skills for young children, and an instance of a rude front desk staff member who rolled her eyes at a parent.

Flying fish has been working very well for our family (super close to where we live). Our now 6yo started here when she was 5 and she was super hesitant to go in the pool. Now, she goes in happily and enjoys her class. We have her enrolled in semi private lessons and have seen her make good progress in the last year. The pool is also nice and warm. The manager is very attentive and helpful. We will be continuing classes here for the foreseeable future!
Came for a Swim Test, Left with a Refund We had just finished a semi-private swim session and wanted to move to a group lesson. As required, my child needed an evaluation to determine the right group level. I arrived 20 minutes early for the scheduled test, but instead of Coach Joe (who originally arranged it), Coach Chen insisted it could only be done after class, despite me explaining we had other commitments. He reluctantly agreed to do it 5 minutes before class. When I asked for the results, he refused to share them, saying, “You wouldn’t accept my result anyway,” even though I had not been told the result at all. He then turned to a long conversation with another parent, leaving me waiting. When I followed up, he claimed he had already told me (he hadn’t) and raised his voice at me. I don’t know why he treated me so rudely, but I suspect it might be because he didn’t want us to move from semi-private to a group class—possibly to keep us in his class or place us in a lower-level junior group, rather than the appropriate intermediate/advanced group. I was only asking for a transparent result, nothing more. This lack of professionalism and transparency led me to request a refund on the spot.
We love flying fish and have all four of our kids (5yr-12yr) currently enrolled in their swim school from their beginner level all the way to their pre-comp classes where coach Michael has been wonderful and supportive with the kids. Manager Jennifer is always helpful and we love how the environment is very family friendly. The pool is indoors and heated and the kids are able to take a quick shower before heading home. We highly recommend flying fish if you are searching for place for your kids to learn how to swim!
Flying Fish has been an excellent experience for our family. Both of our boys have been through the whole program from the alpha bubbles learn to swim classes all the way through to the swim team - now swimming all four strokes. Both boys really enjoyed going to the pool and learning. The staff have been friendly and helpful and the teaching and coaching has been excellent. Coach Michael provides highly personalized coaching in the comp and swim team sessions. He really engages the kids and gets them to improve during the those sessions. We now have two great swimmers in the family. I highly recommend them.
Coach changing rate was too high. Some of the coach didn’t know how to teach young kids. The young girl at the front desk was rude. She even rolled her eyes when I indicated that she didn’t count the days correctly.
