The pools at the Santa Clara Swim Club are heated and maintained at temperatures optimal for competitive swimming and intensive training. While specific daily temperatures can vary, they are typically kept cooler than recreational pools, generally within the range of 78-82°F (25.5-27.8°C), to support peak athletic performance and comfort during workouts and competitions.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for the swim program are mixed, presenting both strong praise and severe criticism. Positive feedback frequently highlights significant skill improvement in children, with one parent noting their child progressed from 'silver' to 'junior bells 1' in 10 weeks. Many commend the empathetic and effective coaches, specifically mentioning Juan P., and appreciate the program's benefits for young children getting comfortable with water, along with good swim time and amenities for parents like covered picnic tables. Some former team members also fondly recall their positive experiences with great coaches. However, serious concerns are raised by a former swimmer who reported developing PTSD and anxiety, attributing it to a program culture that prioritizes trophies and achievements over mental health, with claims of children being overworked to the point of passing out. Other criticisms include issues with 'awful' coaches, favoritism, high costs (though some find it acceptable due to swim time), and problematic 'corporate policies' regarding not allowing personal pool noodles, lifeguards being distracted by cell phones, and unsanitary bathrooms. One review makes an extreme claim about a corporate policy to allow children to drown.

Very nice place ! Put my kid Maria here and in about 10 weeks she went up to junior bells 1 from silver ! the coaches and managers here also are very empathetic and nice especially the manager and the coach Juan P. if im correct has an very nice teaching regimen. recommend this place! the cost is a little much considering its just a lot of kid in one lane but Maria does get an a lot of swim time so its alright for the cost. Anyways 10/10
Great swim class for my 4 year old getting used to the water. We go 2 times a week and she looks forward to every swim class day. Just a few more weeks and I know she is going to be swimming on her own across the pool! For parents, covered picnic tables allow for laptop time or setting up your other child’s homework or activity.
I used to swim here and now I have PTSD I can’t join a swim team, anxiety with coaches and I have a fear of not being judged and not being good enough. This program puts Trophies and Achievements first while putting kids mental health at dead last. My friend in another team says that it’s regular for kids to pass out in the water, and they make the kids overwork themselves until they’re broken. Don’t trust the pretty face and lies. Some coaches are good. Some are awful. They pick favorites. No one is safe in this swim team, especially your kid.
It’s corporate policy to not allow their pool noodle, it’s corporate policy to let kids drown, it’s corporate policy to have life guard on their cell phone whole time, it’s corporate policy to have stinky bathroom smelling of pee.
Used to swim on the teams here, loved the experience, great coaches ❤️
