The weekend was truly exceptional and enjoyable. The children had an outstanding experience and were reluctant to depart. Except for my youngest, the older kids were somewhat disappointed with the splash tower due to the closure of all slides during our three-day visit. Nonetheless, they had a good time in the lazy river, wave pool, and Great Lakes cove.
Had a memorable day with fam at the waterpark. The que for rides was way too long. Took us literally 40 mins in line. Lazy river and the wave pool are worth it. Great splash pads for kids. Need to maintain cleanliness in the shower and changing rooms.
So I will start by saying we went on a very HOT Monday. Arrived an hour after opening and had to wait in line to get in. No shaded places to sit. Fortunately we were able to get a cabana (Even though the sign said Sold Out). Cabana area was definitely worth the money to have some space away from the crowds and a lock box. Only one waiter for the entire Cabana area. Took a few hours to get waited on and get our food / drinks. I felt bad for our waiter because there was only so much he could do. Food was a plus - large portions for a group to share. Nachos and chicken wings were very good. Tried to go to adult swim up bar. Couldn't get in because we did not have ID on us (everyone in group over 50). Not enough bathrooms throughout the park. I waited at least 10 minutes every time I had to go. Areas in park where there was standing water smelled like urine. Waaaaay too many people. Overall not an enjoyable experience.
This is a great water park with one of the best beaches on lake Erie. Unfortunately when it's crowded the lines for the slides are extremely long and it takes a while to actually enjoy them. Tha layout is kinda confusing too, if I didn't have a map I probably would have ended up on the wrong side just trying to find a exit. And the restroom wait was kinda excessive as well. Also this park is huge plan on walking long distances if you try to combine the beach and cedar point in a single day. And lastly when we arrived to go to the waterpark the parking lot attendant told us to park by the buses because we were in a large van and he told us to go through Cedar Point to get to the Shores and in doing so we accidentally used or waterpark passes at the Cedar Point gta and we're initially denied when we arrived at the Shores gate. But after explaining the situation to management we were granted access into the park.
Had an absolute blast and saved a ton of $$$ by booking our tickets and stay at castaway bay resort and it was amazing. The room had a separate room for the girls with 2 bunk beds and a mini fridge with a microwave and it had a water 🌊 park inside the resort ☺️
