Relaxed facility for swimming featuring warm waters, a deep end, a slide and a basketball hoop.
The McChord Pool is a heated indoor facility. While specific, official temperatures are not consistently published, it is known to be maintained at a comfortable level for various aquatic activities. Anecdotal reports suggest the water temperature is often around 82-84 degrees Fahrenheit.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The pool receives mixed reviews, with a significant number of patrons expressing frustration over overly strict rules and lifeguard enforcement. Common complaints include prohibitions on underwater swimming, breath-holding, use of fins, and stringent requirements for parents to hold children in the water, even with life jackets or after passing a swim test. These rules are frequently described as 'ridiculous' and 'too strict,' leading some children to dislike the facility. On the positive side, the pool itself is generally praised for being very clean and offers various amenities such as a deep end, kiddie pool, lap lanes, and a shallow area. However, the women's bathrooms were noted as dirty and lacking toilet paper. The pool is also described as not very large, leading to quick crowding and strict maximum occupancy limits on busy days.

The pool is very clean that's what I appreciate most. But the lifeguards are a little bit ridiculous LOL some dude I guess I would say in about his late 30s was swimming underwater in the deep end short side to short side The Lifeguard told him he can't do underwater training what?? LOL he was literally just swimming underwater. Another kid they told him not to hold his breath that long underwater LOL I think he would come up if he couldn't breathe. The womens bathrooms were pretty dirty. Most of the stalls out of toilet paper. I feel if you have 3 or 4 lifeguards just chilling in the office they need to take turns and clean up the bathroom.
Great place to be on a got day. Not a very big pool so it can get crowded fast. They won't let you in once it reaches maximum occupancy.
Way too strict with no reasonable discernment for the pool rules. The life guards need to lighten up. Let kids swim and go under water for more than 2 seconds, allow them to put on fins, be able to play if more than an arms reach from parents if they are under 4'10 and can swim, etc... many more annoying rules. My kids hate this place because of the rules. If kids hate your pool because of the rules/lifeguards, you're messing up!
Really ridiculous rules. Kids can only swim if they pass a swim test otherwise you have to be in the water with them holding their hands. Even with life jackets and protective swim gear equipped. They had 8 life guards on staff and you're telling me all these parents need to be holding their kids to swim. Unrealistic.
Great experience. Good deep end. Reasonable life guards but lots of pool rules. We still had fun. There's a kiddie pool, a deep end, lanes for lap swimming, and a shallow area for free swim.
