Leisure center with wave pool (for lap swimming at times) plus an outdoor water park.
The Lodge Des Peres features both indoor and seasonal outdoor aquatic facilities. The indoor pools, which include a leisure pool with lap lanes and a separate lap pool, are consistently heated year-round to comfortable temperatures suitable for swimming, aquatic exercise, and recreation. The seasonal outdoor aquatic center's pools, encompassing a lazy river, water slides, and activity areas, are also typically heated to comfortable temperatures during their operational season for an enjoyable guest experience. Specific daily temperatures are usually maintained within standard recreational comfort ranges.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The facility is generally praised for being spacious, clean, and offering a wide array of amenities, including a large pool area with features like water slides, wave pools, lazy river, and toddler sections, as well as a well-equipped gym and ample parking. It's considered a great destination for families and friends. However, several significant downsides were reported: inefficient check-in processes for special events, like 'Dog Days of Summer,' which cut into activity time; frequent and sometimes perceived as unnecessary pool closures due to distant thunder, even in clear weather; incidents of children vomiting in pools, forcing early departures; a lack of attentiveness from a swim class instructor; and specific track rules requiring young children to stay close to parents.

This place is great. Very spacious and the pool area is so big. There was a tall slide, water waves pool and an area for toddlers. The facility looks clean. The gym looks spacious. Overall lots of parking spots. Great facility to swim or to workout with the numerous gym equipments.
Amazing spot to take the family or go with friends. Indoor wave pool, Jacuzzi, water slide and toddle area. Outside has a pool, lazy river, multiple water slides and toddler area. There are concession stands inside and outside.
Attended the Dog days of summer last night and it was so much fun for my girls. I appreciated that they had a cap so there wasn’t too many dogs which was a concern for me for safety reasons. Really annoying though that we paid for a time slot from 530-615 and we got there early but there was a huge line to get in because it took forever for them to check everyone’s vaccine records. It ate up our time slot which I was pissed about. Got less than 30 minutes. They really need to find a better way to go about checking people in. Or at least give us more time. It’s a once in a year kinda thing so more time is better, as my dog absolutely loves swimming and we have no where else we are ever able to take her.
While I’d love to recommend this place for the day passes unfortunately I can’t because they close the pool if there is thunder in the distance and make you wait for an entire half hour to go back in the pool. I have been there three times now where they closed the pool, and twice when the pool was closed twice in a day for weather that did not impact or put us at risk in any way. Like sun still out the entire time.
The Des Peres lodge was decent place to swim, exercise, or play sports. But the pools can be a struggle. For instance, kids barf in the pool and you would have to leave early. My kid took a swim class but wasn’t prepared and started to be at that point of kid swimming where you just want to drown, and the teacher didn’t even flinch when she saw her. The track is fine if you have a kids under 12 then, they have to stay beside you.
