Childs Park Pool is a public aquatic facility located in St. Petersburg, Florida. It serves as a popular community resource offering various swimming programs, lessons, and open swim sessions for residents.
The pools at Childs Park Pool are typically heated to ensure comfortable swimming conditions year-round. While a precise, consistently advertised temperature for the pools is not readily available, municipal pools in the region are generally maintained at comfortable swimming temperatures.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this facility are mixed, with strong positive feedback regarding cleanliness, good management, and excellent staff. Many reviewers praise the young lifeguard team for their attentiveness and respect, highlighting their focus on safety, particularly for young swimmers. Tracy at check-in is also noted as a 'gem,' and the swim lessons are described as 'legit' and highly effective. However, there are significant criticisms, primarily concerning the pool's limited operating hours and days, leading to frustration among users who feel their tax dollars are supporting an often-closed facility, especially in a middle/lower-class neighborhood that needs it most. Additionally, there are serious safety concerns, with reports of individuals smoking weed in the park area near where children play, and one review explicitly warning of severe dangers in the surrounding area, including risks of violence and robbery.

I loved it I definitely is coming again with my friends
Clean and well managed. Grat family outing for me and seven grand kids. Thanks A Million!
The young staff of lifeguards is absolutely amazing. They are super respectful and completely on-point when it comes to the safety of little swimmers. I love them all dearly and appreciate them so much. Tracy at the check-in window is an absolute gem. My boys are enrolled in their summer swim lessons and these guys are legit. 10 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why is this pool rated good!? I would LOVE to be able to come here and swim but it's NEVER open. It's literally open for a few months, and not even every day. It makes me so mad my tax dollors are supposed to pay for a pool that I can't even use despite the fact it's 90 degrees out. I get like November to march ish it would be closed but there hours are excessive. what is even more sad is this is in a middle/lower class neighborhood. We would love nothing more than to have this open. It's sad we have to get on a bus to swim when this is a 5 minute walk. I rather not have it than have to look at it, plus we can never play in the park portion because there are usually people smoking weed inside where the kids play. No issue with it but it's really disrespectful when they are grown and doing it on the jungle gym where my kid wants to play. They really need to fix this and make it just as usable as the parks in the nice parts of town or get rid of it- we deserve just as nice of an area to take our kids as the rest of the city and as a matter of fact we probably need it more since we are labeled as a CRA. Do better Saint Pete, let's see more equitable parks distributed more places than just the fancy rich areas.
I know I may get some back lash from this, if someone who knows me see this review! But all I can say is the truth hurts! If you don't want to lose you or your child's life!Get shot in a drive by hell maybe even robbed!Dont go near the area!Real life jungle!
